"Urgent note to Second Amendment enthusiasts: Please spare me the hysterical correspondence characterizing me as a communist, a pacifist, a liberal or some other undesirable. I own five handguns, am a certified expert marksman and, as a former cop, carried a weapon daily for most of my adult life. The pros and cons of concealed-carry notwithstanding, the point here is that the events of 9/11 are being contorted to advance an unrelated political agenda." - M.W. Guzy

A second bill that would legalize the carrying of concealed weapons in a vehicle's passenger compartment was approved 10-0. The proposals now move to the House floor, where they are expected to face significant opposition.

Politics and public opinion may have turned against the anti-gun lobby, but their burning hatred for guns and gun owners hasn't cooled. Laws passed during the anti-gun witch hunts of the 1990's provide them with a satisfying way to take punitive action against harmless gun owners...

Wisconsin has come a step closer to allowing law-abiding citizens to be trained and licensed to carry a concealed weapon for self-defense. The Assembly Criminal Justice Committee passed the Personal Protection Act (PPA) on a bipartisan 10-4 vote.

*Studies in the states with similar provisions demonstrate that the chance that a law-abiding citizen may have a concealed weapon actually reduces violent crime.*

Don't take the coward’s way out of it, and let the Supreme Court find it unconstitutional, their response is not guaranteed. The tension was already thicker than the restaurant's Frosty shake Dec. 22, when Anita Peggins discovered she'd been shorted the chicken sandwich.

Claude Webster, Franklin County's Director of Public Safety, was in the car behind her that afternoon, beeping his horn at her.

"She said, 'You bald-headed b-----d,'" Webster testified Tuesday.

Then, Webster testified, he pulled his .22-caliber revolver out of the glove box, and held it up where she could see.

"The Edmond Police Department is primarily concerned with the safety of residents and their property."

KABA NOTE: That is a lie! Look at their "recommendations" for "What you can do during a robbery"! Haven't they learned anything from 9/11? From whom do they learn their "safety" tips - Kitty Genovese's "audience"?

* Don't appear to be stalling.

* Don't make any sudden movements.

* Cooperate fully with the robber's demands.

* De-escalate the situation as much as possible; don't upset the robber.

* Set off alarms only if/when possible and it's "safe".

[Of course, no mention of firearms, at least not in the good guys' hands.]

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms....The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. — Thomas Jefferson in a letter to William S. Smith in 1787. Taken from Jefferson, On Democracy p. 20, S. Padover ed., 1939
