... "The incident does illustrate the seeming paradox of schools that have programs against bullies essentially assuming that role. It also highlights the way the 'education system' is also an indoctrination system, imparting beliefs and conditioned reactions to produce disapproval and fear of armed citizens. As this column has shown before, things were not always that way, and many of us remember a much different time."

"The ultimate problem is that schools, via illusory 'gun free zones,' provide those intent on making a name for themselves through acts of unspeakable evil a practical guarantee they will get what they most desire: success. ..."

"As washingtontimes.com is reporting, the United States Concealed Carry Association made an attempt to place the above ad in this year’s Super Bowl program. You would be forgiven for thinking that this was just another brilliant bit of Daniel Defense-style guerrilla marketing, angling for an inevitable rejection and running with it from there. Cynic that I am, that’s what I suspected. But when I reached out to USCCA editor Kevin Michalowski to get the story from the horse’s mouth, here’s what he told me . . ." ...

"Recently, I had fun turning in some relic pieces of jam-o-matic junk at an event sponsored by Ceasefire Oregon. Funny thing, that. It seems Fox News picked up on the event and almost got the link to TTAG right. As they had run out of gift cards by the time I got there, they handed out IOUs, promising to mail my gift cards. So I left my name and mailing address . . ." ...

... "America wants 'El Chapo,' one of the world’s most infamous drug dealers. He’s currently serving a 300–400 year sentence at a Mexican maximum-security prison. Mexico’s top prosecutor said we can have El Chapo after he’s done serving his multi-century sentence in Mexico."

"If we really want El Chapo, we’ve got to be willing to give Mexico someone they should really want."

"... I say we get Monty Hall to make a deal to offer up our gunrunning former AG, Eric Holder, to Mexico in exchange for El Chapo."

"It’s a fair deal for both. One sold tons and tons of deadly dope that ended up in America ... while the other ran a couple of thousand illegal guns from America that ended up in the hands of violent Mexican drug cartels." ...

"'The federal judge considering a proposed class-action settlement involving millions of allegedly defective Remington rifles is raising new questions about the accord, warning a plaintiff’s attorney in court that the agreement as it currently stands risks more people being injured by the guns,' cnbc.com reports. U.S. District Judge Ortrie Smith’s main beef with the not-a-recall recall? The Freedom Group subsidiary will send vouchers for $10 or $12.50 (for Remington clobber) to consumers with Remington rifles that are too old to be retrofitted with the XMark Pro trigger. 'If the guns are defective,' the judge asked, 'why are they still out there?' In other words . . ." ...

"FNH makes a mountain of money milking the military market with firearms in a kaleidoscope of calibers and configurations. Perhaps that’s why the Belgian gunmaker hasn’t been chasing American handgun buyers with the kind of fervor of, well, anyone else. The long wait for FN’s entry into the striker-fired everyday carry handgun market indicates a laissez faire attitude towards the job of winning converts to John Moses Browning’s vieux amis. Then again, some things are worth the wait. Does the new FNS-9 Compact finally knock GLOCK from its perch at atop of the U.S. carry gun sales chart? One thing’s for certain . . ." ...

"Responding to a recent complaint by the vehemently anti-gun crusaders of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, fast food chain Raising Cane’s refused to kowtow to their demands. Western Journalism has reported previous efforts by the anti-gun group to invoke its will upon other private businesses."

"The activist group reportedly cited a 2013 image of a pro-gun demonstration that took place at a Raising Cane’s location in Texas as its motivation in coercing the corporation to support an open carry ban."

"Instead of playing a role in changing the company’s gun policy ... through its campaign, Moms Demand Action only prompted Raising Cane’s to reiterate its neutral position on the issue." ...

"The Nebraska legislature, in its zeal to give as many guns to as many people as fast as possible, may have inadvertently left the Cornholer State vulnerable to the oncoming onslaught that is gay marriage, thanks to a bill that grants concealed carry permits to the spouses of current military members, who as you may know can be totally homo for each other now, ew!"

“Jennifer Fiore, a spokeswoman for the Campaign to Unload, told the Globe that many colleges are currently taking strides to divest from the gun industry, mostly due to student groups’ advocacy. Campaign to Unload, formed in 2013 in reaction to the shooting at Sandy Hook, advocates for divestment."

"'Is not the Second Amendment sex blind? Color blind?' Schumacher asked. 'What great evil would come from saying a partner of somebody in the military … is entitled to exercise their Second Amendment rights to carry a concealed weapon in this state?'"

"The amendment was adopted by a vote of 38-0 but there’s debate about whether it upends the Cornhusker State’s marriage ban, with progressives torn on supporting gun rights to help the cause of equality." ...

"The foundation filed the lawsuit on behalf of three men who were denied permits by the Metropolitan Police Department because they failed to demonstrate 'a good reason to fear injury to person or property.'"
