In a recent fatal shooting in Garden City, authorities have determined that no arrests will be made, according to KAKE.
The incident occurred on March 6 in the 2600 block of N. 3rd, where a man from Garden City died following an argument with family members.
The Garden City Police Department and the Finney County Attorney have concluded that there is probable cause to believe the suspect acted in self-defense. As a result, no charges will be filed. |

Unfortunately, Governor Roy Cooper vetoed Senate Bill 41, a bill that recognizes law-abiding citizens’ right to self-defense while attending a church with a school attached and also repeals the redundant permit-to-purchase system. This was expected from the anti-gun Governor who has a proven track record of trampling on the Second Amendment rights of North Carolinians.

One of the favorite punching bags of the mainstream media’s so-called “reporters” is concealed carry. From the time right-to-carry laws first began to be debated, those opposing such laws and their media partners have warned of “blood running in the streets” and a return to the “Wild West.” They do the same thing every time a state debates enacting a constitutional-carry law, but these same “journalists” stop reporting after these laws pass, as no such mayhem ensues. |

The importance of the Second Amendment is that it should be used to protect the other amendments, whenever they may be challenged or restricted. It was specifically written by our forefathers to protect the other amendments, in case the government in the future tried to restrict the other rights granted to us in the Constitution, like our right to speech, religion, fair trial, etc.
The Second Amendment is the most important amendment because if the government restricts or eliminates this amendment, it can then take away any of the other rights granted to us in the Bill of Rights without resistance. |

Who are the “apologists for gun violence” who supposedly have a role in the gun violence debate? Bush would have you believe they are Republicans, who are “apologists for gun violence” because … why exactly? Because Republicans rightly recognize that liberal gun control policies would do almost nothing to stop mass shootings, which even the Washington Post has noted? |

"When given the opportunity to guarantee Second Amendment protections in North Carolina, Gov. Roy Cooper chose to maintain our duplicative gun laws and infringe on our constitutional rights," Sen. Danny Earl Britt, Jr., R-Robeson, said. "I look forward to a swift veto override in the Senate."

But Republicans in the Senate are already pledging to use their supermajority to override Cooper's decision.
However, they will need some help from Democrats to do that in the House. |

Gun rights advocates passed a major milestone Friday in their drive to get a permitless carry bill to Gov. Ron DeSantis for his signature.
The Florida House approved HB 543 on a mostly party line 76–32 vote, with one Republican, Rep. Vicki Lopez of Miami voting with 31 Democrats in opposition.
The measure, and its Senate companion, SB 150, does away with background checks, training, and fees for a concealed-carry weapons license. The Department of Agriculture has issued more than 2.66 million CWLs. |

Recently, Acting Attorney General Matthew Platkin discussed New Jersey’s decrease in gun violence and pointed to our state’s strict gun laws as one of the main reasons for this decline. According to Platkin, shootings dropped 25% statewide in 2022. This is a monumental accomplishment; hundreds of people across the state of New Jersey were safe from senseless gun violence last year and it is due in large part to our commonsense gun laws that have been proven to work. |

The Denver father of a 12-year-old boy who was killed when a man tracked down his stolen car and shot the boy inside the vehicle called for a new state law Thursday that would prohibit drivers from confronting car thieves without police involvement.
“It’s the police’s job, let the police do it,” said Thomas Armstrong, father to slain 12-year-old Elias Armstrong. “No civilian should be able to track down their car and be able to approach the vehicle. I want it called Elias’ Law.”

“Coming of age.” There is a reason we immediately understand the meaning of this phrase. Common sense, plus our memories of high school, remind us that some experiences are better reserved for later in life. We already prevent youth from buying and possessing alcohol and tobacco until age 21 because these restrictions save lives. Similarly, allowing youth to buy and possess guns at the age of 18 takes lives.
Why make this call? We see solid research about the delayed development of the human brain, particularly in areas that may alter a person’s likelihood of involvement in violence against themselves or others. |

An Oklahoma City man involved in a fatal shooting of his roommate has not been charged, pending further investigation.
The police department reported a shooting incident on Southwest 74th Street and South May Avenue, where a man allegedly shot and killed 20-year-old Matthew Harvey, according to KOCO News 5.
The suspect, a convicted felon, has been arrested for possessing a firearm, but not for the shooting itself. |

As we all come to realize as we get older, freedom is a fragile thing and is only as safe as the next generation of Americans willing to defend it. And just watching so-called “mainstream” media, that can seem to be a scary proposition. However, the plethora of ridiculous Tik-Tok videos, widespread “wokeness” and seeming distaste for hard work among younger Americans might not be as widespread as many would like to think. A great example of that is the group Young Americans for Liberty (YAL), which has been rallying freedom-minded students to fight injustices on college campuses for over a decade. |

House Bill 1005 lowers the age of permits to 18 and changes the term handgun to firearm in Tennessee code. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Chris Todd, R-Madison County, is aimed at matching a court agreement between the Firearms Policy Coalition and Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti following FPC’s lawsuit against Tennessee’s current law, which restricts through between ages 18 and 21 from receiving permits.
That court agreement was approved by a judge in mid-March.
Senate Bill 1503 had an amendment added this week from Sen. Brent Taylor, R-Memphis, in the Senate Judiciary Committee that will prevent long guns from being openly carried. |

Gun-rights advocate Todd Vandermyde has been counseling the gun store owners’ group and argues the state has it all wrong.
“They keep trying to interject interest balancing and these important governmental interests and emotion into what’s a purely legal question, does the plain text of the Second Amendment and the rulings from four [U.S. Supreme Court] rulings stop this ban in its tracks,” Vandermyde told The Center Square.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is putting womens’ lives in danger by ruling it unconstitutional to prohibit domestic abusers from owning guns. Despite the U.S. judicial system’s responsibility to protect civil rights and liberties for all, it continually fails to protect women. The recent revision in United States v. Rahimi highlights the government’s prioritization of the Second Amendment of bearing arms over the safety of its citizens.
