South Dakota Gov. Larry Rhoden on Monday signed a trio of gun rights bills, according to a news release from his office.

The three bills—one from the Senate and two from the House—expanded the ability to carry concealed while on the campus of a public institution of higher learning, addresses the imposition of firearm restrictions on certain employees, officers, volunteers, and other individuals, and expands the authorized carrying, possession, and storage of a concealed pistol.

Australia implemented a firearm ban and mandatory confiscation in 1996 pursuant to the National Firearms Agreement, in which nearly 700,000 privately-owned firearms were turned in to the government and destroyed. In 2017, NRA-ILA described how the country’s anti-gun officials and activists were nonetheless continuing to demand even stricter gun controls: “For those interested in restricting freedom, there’s always one more step that must be taken.”

Comedian Rob Schneider posted a photo to X on Monday in which he holds an AR-15 and describes it as his “anti-Tesla Protection Device.”

Schneider is holding a Nemo Arms rifle in the photo with a magazine etched with the words, “You Can Do It,” a phrase which Schneider made famous in The Waterboy (1998).

The Gun Control Act (GCA) prohibits persons with certain legal disabilities from possession of firearms. It also provides a procedure to petition to remove those disabilities on a finding that the person will not be likely to act in a manner dangerous to public safety.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) announced he would support Sen. John Kennedy‘s (R-LA) bill to protect veterans’ Second Amendment rights.

Paul joined Kennedy’s proposed Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act, which would prevent veterans from being denied their constitutionally protected rights to purchase guns in the country legally after receiving assistance in managing their Department of Veterans Affairs benefits.

The Colorado House passed the Democrats’ semiautomatic firearm ban on Monday, just over a month after the state’s Senate passed the legislation.

Colorado Newsline reported the ban, SB 25-3, passed the House by a vote of 36-28.

Just days after a tidal wave of criticism hit the Department of Justice (DOJ) for doubling down on its claim that firearm suppressors – or silencers – are not protected by the Second Amendment, something strange happened. Pam Bondi, the current Attorney General, may be changing course. According to William Kirk, attorney and host of Washington Gun Law, the turnaround came surprisingly fast. In a matter of hours, the DOJ filed a motion asking for a delay in a high-stakes federal case involving suppressors – United States v. Peterson.
