"...there ARE consequences. 'Republican sportsmanlike conduct has cost them dearly over the years. Republican diffidence helped doom Robert Bork's Supreme Court nomination, almost derailed Clarence Thomas' confirmation to the high court, and is likely to defeat Miguel Estrada's appellate court bid as well.' Chavez writes. I don’t agree with Linda that Estrada is doomed, but he certainly is in jeopardy."

"Liberal Democrats are not in control … but they never got the memo. It is almost as if by ignoring the reality it will go away. And it has. Regrettably, the GOP lacks the insight, reason or ‘stones’ to impress upon their recalcitrant opposition the Golden Rule: 'The guy with the gold makes the rules.' "

A sociologist who studies what hunters think about themselves, nature and social issues is scheduled to speak this week at Texas A&M University.

Jan Dizard, a professor of sociology at Amherst College, will present “From Villains to Heroes and Back: The Moral Career of Hunters” at 3:45 Thursday in 502 Rudder Tower. His talk is free and open to the public.

Dizard’s research undermines stereotypes of hunters by showing their opinions on social issues track those of the general population, said A&M professor Gary Varner, who arranged the lecture.

But never mind his Keystone Kop hunt for the wrong vehicle while the snipers' Chevy Caprice (spotted by several witnesses and stopped at least 10 times for license-plate checks during the shooting spree) got away. Pay no heed to his oversight of nonsensical roadblocks, botched hotline operations, and the deadly politically correct assumption that the snipers were crazed white militants in a non-existent white box truck."

In other words, if Big Brother makes it a crime to swear, then the only way I will ever achieve happiness is by following the law. But what happens if I ignore it?
