"Here is todays story from the AP, it appears that Montana's CBS station picked it up as well"

"The battle between a Twin Falls gun shop and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is in the federal courts this week."

"Red's Trading Post contends the ATF wrongly revoked its license over paperwork violations. Gun shop owners Ryan and Terry Horsley say federal rules allow for gun shop licenses to be revoked for willful violations, and they had little more than paperwork errors. For instance, some of the mandatory questionnaires the gun shop had to get filled out to sell weapons had Y's and N's instead of the full words 'yes' and 'no'.

"A national database containing images of ballistic markings from all new and imported guns sold in the U.S. should not be created at this time, says a new report from the National Research Council. Such a database has been proposed to help investigators link ballistics evidence -- cartridge cases or bullets found at crime scenes -- to a firearm and the location where it was originally sold. But given the practical limitations of current technology for generating and comparing images of ballistic markings, searches of such an extensive database would likely produce too many candidate 'matches' to be helpful, the report says." ...

"You'll recall that, a while ago, the President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, signed an agreement with Canadian leaders to permit each country to send troops to the other's aid in an emergency."

"In short, the President authorized foreign soldiers to cross our border and push us around ..."

"The alert JPFO issued on this subject asked a rhetorical question: how would you like those foreign troops to come around smashing down your door to relieve you of the weapons ..? Only we didn't say 'foreign troops'. We said, 'gun-hating Canadian troops' -- and we heard about that, loud and clear."

"The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution clearly states 'the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.' "Officially the world's smallest working revolver, the gun is being marketed as a collector's item and measures just 2.16 inches long (5.5cm). It can fire real 4.53 bullets up to a range of 367ft (112m)."

"The stainless steel gun costs £3,000 although the manufacturers also produce extravagant, made-to-order versions made out of 18-carat gold with customised diamond studs which sell for up to £30,000." ...

"Mr. Nickels said at a news conference this morning that he was confident in the District's chances of winning the case and called the city's brief 'the gold standard.'"

"At the end of April, Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne will suggest new rules for carrying loaded guns in national parks that will likely relax the restrictions to bring them more in-line with state laws. In Montana, where gun restrictions are relatively few, carrying loaded weapons could be permitted in Glacier and Yellowstone national parks."

"Both opponents and supporters of relaxing the ban agree on one thing: Permitting loaded weapons in national parks where they are currently restricted will alter the role these lands play in our national identity. Whether the proposed change is for safety reasons or a political move in an election year, depends on where you stand and whom you ask." ...

"A businessman in the UK has come up with a novel way to deal with potential thieves: firing chickenshit at them from a 30-foot catapult. Joe Watson-Webb, a retired showman, had the iron trebuchet left over from his days as a showman, and gets his avian ammo from the farm next door. Local cops have said that they will prosecute Watson-Webb if he uses the catapult to defend his property against arsonists and robbers ... Watson-Webb is also the proud owner of a 20-foot-long cannon, out of which he used to fire his wife!"
