New Orleans Will Begin Returning Seized Firearms Monday, Says SAF

"More than seven months have passed since New Orleans residents were forcibly and illegally disarmed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and starting Monday, April 17, the City of New Orleans will be returning seized firearms to their rightful owners, thanks to legal action by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and National Rifle Association (NRA)."

"'We've learned from the police that starting Monday at 8 a.m., New Orleans gun owners can get their firearms back,' noted SAF founder Alan Gottlieb. 'The city had been denying for more than five months that these guns were in possession. "A man turned the tables on two men who tried to carjack him. Now one suspected carjacker is dead and the other is on the run."

"Acting on a tip, the police officer assigned to the school approached Carlos Delgadillo, 17, as he sat at a computer in the school library."

A West Bend high school student has arrested for bringing a gun to school.

Police discovered the rifle and ammunition in the trunk of the student's car at West Bend West High School.

The 17-year-old told police he forgot he left the gun in the car after he had gone hunting.

He was arrested on charges of possessing a dangerous weapon on school grounds.

A MAN is in serious condition after being shot in the neck during a camping trip with friends in Victoria.

The victim, a 27-year-old Hoppers Crossing man, was believed to have been camping with friends in bushland near Talbot in Victoria's west yesterday when he was shot twice with a pistol.

He suffered serious injuries to his neck and a minor leg wound.

He was taken to Maryborough Hospital about 9.30pm (AEST) before being airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in serious condition.

Police said a 37-year-old man was helping with inquiries.
