A hip-hop video production by children will highlight "Kids and Guns Don't Mix," a program aimed at curbing the use of guns by children. The program runs from June 19 through Aug. 16, funded by a grant from the Flint Cultural Center's Animating Democracy Project, a year-long series of anti-violence events. The 13-minute video, geared for kindergartners through eighth-graders, sends the message to students to tell an adult if they find a gun and to tell adults to lock up guns. Police chiefs from each Davis County city received at least three videos to share in schools, as well as packets on how to present the program. |

A bill prohibiting Florida cities from suing gun-makers has passed the state Senate over objections from Democrats, as a case filed by Miami-Dade County now sits before the state Supreme Court.

The only thing the government is trying to control is the law-abiding citizen when it passes more laws. The illegal immigrant does not care. I can not blame them, but if we truly want to get rid of them, make the punishment hurt. |
