Senate To Consider Compromise On Gun Makers' Protection -- Ask Senator Frist to shield the bill from anti-gun 'killer amendments'

"As early as this week, the U.S. Senate could take up S. 397 -- a measure originally designed to protect gun dealers and manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits."

"The bill has been watered down substantially over the years, as pro-gun Senators have worked hard to get additional support for the legislation."

"But far more important than what's currently in the bill is what anti-gun senators plan to try to tack onto it. Anti-gun 'killer amendments' could include:

* A lock-up-your-safety trigger lock mandate;
* A renewal of the semi-automatic ban ...
* A .50 caliber ban;
* A Lautenberg amendment to match Instant Check applicants against an administration 'enemies list';
* A gun show crack-down which would subtly but effectively outlaw gun shows."

"As was the case last year, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has the parliamentary tools to block all of these amendments -- if he chooses to use them." ...

It does include organizations such as the American Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America and other pro-Second Amendment groups, Anti-nuclear and pacifist groups, Tree-hugging Earth-firsters along with timber-cutting Wise use advocates, Peace and Justice groups throughout the nation, Radical pro-abortionists sit along side Eagle Forum anti-abortionists at Fully Informed Jury meetings and the list could go on and on."

"One of the few clues to the special mood of their journey was on Rose Lussier's Red Lake High School 2005 senior class T-shirt:"

"Stand back, you're in the presence of greatness."

"Principal Chris Dunshee hoped the trip would let the seniors forget about the problems back home for a while. But while the students went through the rituals of a typical class trip, some seemed to take comfort in little signs of unity, such as the 'Nation in Mourning' buttons that they wore." ...

"Among the many traditions of the Red Lake Nation, a few have been added in modern times. One, now in its eighth year, is to send a group of top academic achievers to the nation's capital, to reinforce what they've learned in school about government, history and current events."

"This year, to go on the trip everyone had to write a paper on gun control and what it means on the reservation, where non-Indian laws are limited."

"As long as we continue to accept evil-based choice making, we will continue to be manipulated into surrender. Linda Boyd and the Democrat wing of the Republican party can go lead themselves. If they truly represent the leadership of the Republican party, they deserve their pathetic minority status in LA. That it’s courtesy of their 'leaders’' lack of fundamental line-in-the-sand principles escapes them, I’m sure."
