I first became aware of Carey McWilliams in 2018. Carey has been completely blind since age 10. He distinguished himself by acquiring carry permits in several states, and by successfully hunting big game and birds with firearms.

I met Carey at the Gun Rights Policy Conference in 2018. He graciously gave me a copy of A Shooting Guide for the Blind to review.

In front of some of the nation's most enthusiastic gun owners, President Donald Trump and Gov. Eric Holcomb separately signed measures Friday demonstrating their commitment to the right of law-abiding Americans to possess and use guns.

Both leaders, along with Vice President Mike Pence, also assured the 15,000-strong audience inside Lucas Oil Stadium for the National Rifle Association's annual convention that no law limiting Second Amendment freedoms ever will take effect while they hold office.

On April 30th, the New Hampshire state Senate Judiciary Committee will hear two anti-gun bills that were previously passed by the state House of Representatives. House Bill 514 will impose delays on Second Amendment rights and House Bill 564 would restrict law-abiding citizens from defending themselves and their loved ones on school grounds. Please contact committee members and urge them to OPPOSE HB 514 and HB 564.

As the debate over the 2nd Amendment continues unabated in the United States, it's not unusual for foreign nationals to observe the infighting and wonder why Americans are so protective of their right to bear arms.

That curiosity may be turning to understanding for some Venezuelans, however, as a group called Rumbo Libertad — described in this Breitbart op-ed as a conservative Venezuelan group — begins to push for gun rights as citizens patiently await the exit of Nicolas Maduro.

On April 24, 2019, NRA filed a lawsuit challenging the City of Los Angeles’ recently adopted ordinance requiring current and prospective contractors working with the city to disclose any relationships with the NRA as a violation of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Make no mistake, the goal of this outrageous Ordinance is to discourage NRA membership and silencing support for the Second Amendment.

“Kamala Harris doesn’t seem to have the courage to concede that owning a handgun for protection is a bad idea. Instead, she has given voters a real choice: Back candidates who care enough about gun control to not own handguns, or support the only major Democratic contender who has one and won’t throw it away.”

With pro-gun legislation largely stalled in Congress, President Donald Trump said Friday he is withdrawing the U.S. from an international agreement on the arms trade, telling the National Rifle Association the treaty is “badly misguided.”

Trump made the announcement as he vowed to fight for gun rights and implored members of the nation’s largest pro-gun group — struggling to maintain its influence — to rally behind his re-election bid.

Pearson, with the Illinois State Rifle Association, said gun owners by and large responsibly store their firearms. He said ISRA would oppose any attempt to legally require guns to be locked up.

“Every time the lawmakers try and cook up some scheme, it is so complex that it doesn’t work,” Pearson said. “The law-abiding gun owner is not the problem here. It’s the non-law-abiding gun owner that’s the problem.”

Gun-rights supporters like Pearson can make a lot of noise in Springfield. Hundreds marched on the Capitol last month for the annual Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day.

Sig Sauer thundered into the polymer pistol market when they introduced the P320 to market a few years ago and it has taken the civilian market and the US military by storm. They followed up this striker-fired duty pistol offering with a pocket-sized P365, which hit the shelves last year. Both models have been very successful, but Sig isn't this late to the polymer pistol game.

Their first plastic fantastic debuted back in 1999 and it is still to be had, the SP2022–otherwise known as the Sig Pro.

The initial ruling shot down California’s ban on possession of magazines holding more than ten rounds. What was extremely important in that decision was the rationale for the ruling. Judge Roger T. Benitez ruled that because standard capacity magazines were in common use for lawful purposes, he applied a test that knocks out many of the gun bans that are being called for by the likes of Joe Biden, Eric Swalwell, Andrew Cuomo, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Jerrold Nadler.

The bill expanding the right to self-defence from intruders, fashioned by Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, introduces norms similar to US 'stand your ground' laws.

Among the new factors to be weighed in self-defence cases there is the concept of "serious emotional disturbance" in the face of intruders, which would legitimise even deadly self defence.

To some, news that attendees of a gun rights rally plan to assemble Saturday in downtown Olympia just as Arts Walk is getting started for the day sounds like a recipe for trouble.

“Looks like downtown is going to be full of angry, armed right-wingers during Saturday’s Arts Walk festivities. Does this change anyone’s plans?” a Reddit user wrote, one of more than 170 comments on the post.

“I’m a champion for the Second Amendment and so are you,” Trump told the attendees in Indiana on Friday. “… It’s under assault, but not when we’re here. Not even close.”

According to police, the driver of the BMW got out to inspect the damage and when he went back to get his cell phone, the Volkswagen driver approached with a handgun, demanded his keys and pushed him into the vehicle.

Both men were inside the vehicle when police said the 41-year-old BMW driver retrieved his handgun and shot the 22-year-old man in the head.

"I think concealed carry is a good thing," said Eduardo Yearwood. "I think criminals should think twice before they attempt to do something to somebody."

The 22-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his identity.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
You must understand, therefore, that there are two ways of fighting: by law or by force. The first way is natural to men, and the second to beasts. But as the first way often proves inadequate one must have recourse to the second. — Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince."
