The Christian Case Against Gun Control

"Most people can’t imagine Christ with a weapon. Therefore, it doesn’t seem right that a Christian should have one. Leftists and their anti-gun laws seem more Christian in their attitude toward guns. But early American Christians would call them cowards, unworthy of the Christian commonwealth."

Gun Control and the Next Big Lie

"Get ready for gun control with a happy face. Gun banners pretend to no longer want to confiscate your firearms. They are concerned about safety. With all those firearms on the streets, now that 37 states have Shall-Issue Concealed Carry laws, the gun banners want to know who has them and where they are at all times. In their hoplophobia (irrational fear of guns) they believe that anybody carrying a gun is a hair’s breadth away from becoming a homicidal maniac or that demon-possessed guns will leap out of holsters and fire of their own volition. Of course, the only way to keep track of all those guns is to have a registry, and history has shown that registration leads to confiscation, which leads to loss of other civil rights. (See last paper.*) So we come full circle to a new confiscation scheme."

"I am simply not heartened by the dissents. their intensity is admirable & many good points are made in them, but they are still an underwhelming minority. The main reason I'm not as optimistic is that despite their personal feelings all these judges are bound by precedent. Justice Kozinski is arguably the most outspoken supporter of the Right to Arms on the federal bench today, yet he has denied 2nd amendment claims because he was bound by previous rulings of the court. He even concurred with the majority in Nordyke for what he deemed 'prudential considerations'."

"The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence united with the Million Mom March today filed papers in federal court seeking a preliminary injunction barring the Justice Department and its Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) from continuing their illegal policy of authorizing the manufacture of new semiautomatic assault weapons. ..."

"The request for an injunction follows the filing, last month, of a lawsuit by the Brady Campaign contesting the government's policy of allowing gun manufacturers to make new 'receivers' to replace damaged receivers on assault weapons that were possessed before the 1994 Assault Weapons Act went into effect and thus were protected by the Act's 'grandfather' clause."

"TV One, the new television network for African American adults, is launching a month-long public service campaign to call attention to the Million Mom March on Mothers' Day, May 9, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C."

"Gun violence is the leading cause of death among African American males ages 15-24, according to the Centers for Disease Control."

-------
Since gun control began as a racist tool to control African Americans and trample on their rights, the KKK and other racist slime are likely dancing with glee that African Americans are doing such a good job trying to disarm themselves.

"A killer gunned down her young sons and now one mother is trying to use her personal tragedy to help create new laws to prevent the same thing happening to others."

Translation: She is trying to use her tragedy to further her political agenda and disarm law abiding citizens.

"...Her story is the backbone of a federal lawsuit filed by the Brady Campaign, blaming the U.S. attorney general and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for not fully banning semiautomatic weapons."

NOTE: What further proof do you need that the Brady Bunch dances on corpses to further its political agenda? Note also that the sale and possession of semiautomatic weapons is not against the law.

"The Confluence Against Gun Violence, a coalition of Pittsburgh organizations, is mobilizing to oppose the National Rifle Association (NRA) leadership and its annual convention and gun show which will be held in Pittsburgh on April 16-18. The Confluence will sponsor broad-based educational events during this period, including a teach-in, a candlelight vigil, and a rally and concert."

"According to Nathaniel Glosser, president of the Rosenberg Institute for Peace & Justice and lead Confluence organizer, this is likely to be the largest protest the NRA has encountered at its annual conventions for many years. 'Pittsburgh is going to say 'no' to the NRA, 'no' to its policies which promote violence, and 'no' to the hate and bigotry the NRA leadership spreads.' said Glosser."

"The streets of Sacramento don't scare Sheldon Morgan, nor do the streets of New York's tough Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, where he grew up."

"He carries a gun - legally, courtesy of a concealed-weapons permit that he renews every three years - and the streets don't feel so threatening when you're armed." ...

"My philosophy has always been, I don't want to be a victim... A lot of people have a hard time with that.

"But you know what? One of my friends got carjacked. One of my friends got mugged. One had her purse stolen. And after that, they all realized maybe they need to look at this issue again." ...

"I'd personally like to think most also remain unarmed."

Maybe you'd like to ask Ms. Creamer why she would prefer that people be victimized by armed thugs, or why she hopes that women simply lay down for their rapists and wait for them to finish. Here is her email address: acreamer@sacbee.com.

"State Sen. Kimberly Lightford (D-Maywood) voted no and said she hopes the House will follow suit, although the measure passed in the Senate."

A requirement like this would not be good for a metropolitan area that has a lot of gang activity and things of that nature. I hope the House will vote it down and the governor will veto it if it passes.' "

-------
Senator Lightfoot, we challenge you to show us a gang member that will bother taking the time to legally apply for a FOID card to purchase a firearm. We also would like to know why an 18 year old who is old enough to fight and die to protect your rights is not old enough to be "allowed" to exercise them.

"Two days before Ohio's concealed-carry law takes effect, gun control advocate Michael Beard, the founder and president of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, spoke at Denison University to discuss 'Shooting Straight on Guns: How the Gun Lobby's Distortions are Destroying Public Safety.' "

"Groups like the National Rifle Association, Beard said, claim guns protect people and save lives, an armed society is a polite society and an armed society is a safe society."

"But a recent study from Emory University, according to Beard, showed a gun kept in the home is four-times more likely to be involved in an unintentional shooting, seven-times more likely to be used in an assault or a homicide, and 11-times more likely to be used in a suicide or attempted suicide than ever used in self defense."

-------
Right. Emory University. Is that the same school that employed the infamous liar Michael Bellesiles?

And here you have a revealing look at the objectivity of the speaker:

"The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, represents more than 100,000 people nationwide, with a primary objective to ban private possession of handguns and assault weapons."

And why is that? " 'It's a privilege, and with that privilege comes responsibility,' [Muskingum County Sheriff's Deputy Maj. Brian Hoover] said."

-------
That's where this Sheriff's deputy needs a constitutional lesson. The right to keep and bear arms is a RIGHT, not a privilege. It is not granted by the government, nor is it granted by the sheriff's department. It is GUARANTEED and protected by the Constitution. And it's morally repugnant to claim otherwise.

New curbs on certain types of airguns could lead to mandatory five-year jail terms for Scots possessing them illegally, justice minister Cathy Jamieson has warned.

The new restrictions which take effect from April 30 will make self-contained gas cartridge (SCGC) guns prohibited weapons.

Owners must either apply for a firearms certificate or hand the guns over to police. Owners cannot sell the guns or give them away, and possessing an SCGC gun without a certificate could result in a mandatory five-year jail term.

"Marking the 10-year anniversary of the Rwandan genocide, President Paul Kagame lashed out at the international community Wednesday for failing to stop the slaughter, and pledged that if another genocide should happen, Rwanda would be the first to send troops to stop it."

"While he acknowledged that the Rwandan people were ultimately responsible for the massacres that claimed more than 500,000 lives in 100 days in 1994, he said world powers refused to do anything to stop the killing, which eventually ended when his rebel forces seized control of the country." ...

"When the 100-day slaughter began, the U.N. had 2,519 peacekeepers in Rwanda. ..."

"U.N. troops were busy 'tanning at the pool' in neighboring Uganda and monitoring its border to ensure that weapons did not reach Kagame's rebels, who were fighting to end the slaughter..."

"Two new political parties have been formed in Colorado, one for voters who oppose abortion and another for those who support gun rights."

"Republicans claim the parties were part of a plot to take votes away from the GOP during a crucial election year. Democrats denied they were involved and said they do not know who came up with the plan."

-------
Oh, gee, GOP, maybe in your quest for power and glory, your politicians have forgotten the Constitution, forgotten morals and forgotten that they are accountable to the public, not the other way around.

"THE police officer who allegedly took four girls at last year's Schoolies Festival back to his Gold Coast unit and offered them alcohol and propositioned one has been demoted but will keep his job."

"The Brisbane sergeant, 38, at Schoolies as part of the public safety response team, was alleged to have taken the four girls back to his unit – rubbing one girl's leg with a gun as he sexually propositioned her – and allowing some of the girls to handle the unloaded firearm."

"Queensland Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson said yesterday an internal investigation had concluded that the officer had acted inappropriately and 'did not meet the standard of conduct the community reasonably expects of a police officer'.

-------
Then why in the world is he keeping his job?

Feeling unsafe driving a car in Iraq? Then try one of 1,497 Russian 650cc Ural motorcycles on sale now and easily adapted for urban warfare. The Saddam Fedayeen militia and the Jerusalem Army paramilitary force ordered the Urals just before the U.S. invasion.

Among the prospective clients is one U.S. officer. "I hope they don't sell them with machineguns," the officer said. "One can buy anything in this country."

The new "Democratic" constitution should fix that.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest")
