In spring 2000, 62 yr old grandmother with CCW gun saves citizens lives from knife attack in Flordia Walmart store.

Same story one year later in Kentucky Walmart no CCW citizen was present and eight citizens are stabbed before the attacker was stopped.

Hand gun control says Citzens with CCW only escalates the situation. How stupid are these liberal anti-gunners?

This news story needs to be blasted to all media new outlets.

The case is being closely watched across the nation. It stems from the first and only appellate decision that allows a gun maker to be sued for the damage its product causes. Every federal and state court -- save the 1st District Court of Appeal in San Francisco -- has ruled that gun makers are immune from such suits. A ruling for the plaintiffs would break new legal ground.

They're baaack. Just when you thought you were safe from Rosie and the anti-gun nuts because their candidate Al Gore got Bushwhacked, the Million Mom March folks are back, planning a series of Mother's Day events peddling the same lies and about kids and guns as last year.

The Million Mom group makes the outrageous accusation that Second Amendment supporters are so subhuman that they don't care about children's lives — that they only love inanimate objects. This kind of hate-mongering is the same charge that anti-Semites have long made about Jews — that Jews don't have normal human emotion, and that Jews kill children.

The anti-gun lobby has that correlation exactly backwards. It's not that guns in the hands of more Americans cause crime. Quite the contrary, it's crime that causes more Americans to need guns.

To the extent that the Brady Act has frustrated gun sales by licensed dealers, the Act has worsened the problem of gun violence. Criminals who are not deterred by laws against armed robbery, rape, and murder will hardly be deterred by laws requiring background checks

In the fiscal 2002 budget Bush sent to Congress, he requested $49.78 million to provide grants to states to establish programs for increasing arrests and prosecution of gun offenders.

While opposing gun control, Bush has advocated "vigorously prosecute" of gun crimes and said it should be a priority to keep juveniles from obtaining guns.

Prosecutor Says Slain Man Was Choked, Kicked

You might question what this has to do with guns as the "accused" choked the victim with his bare hands until he went down. He did NOT use a gun. The accused walked into his home then returned to kick the body - maybe dead, maybe not quite dead yet. The point is that the accused is charged with manslaughter, one of the elements being "without malice." This is the flip side of accentuating the severity of gun crimes: reducing the severity of non-gun crimes. I see malice AND premeditation here.

~~Here's the lowdown: Current Gov. Ryan doesn't have good odds of re-election. Two republican contenders, O'Malley and Fitzgerald, have emerged. Now Attorney General Jim Ryan is throwing his hat in. Pay attention to this one, folks, because we'll need a pro-gun governor to get CC passed--and based on the positions of the state's attorneys, I'd say Jim Ryan probably isn't much of a hope for us either (George Ryan is definitely NOT a friend).

Environmentalists plan to appeal the decision, which they blamed in part on the Bush administration's failure to vigorously defend the rule in court.

"It's what we said all along, that it was clearly illegal and it is now time for the administration to move on," said Chris West, vice president of American Forest Resource Council, a timber industry group based in Portland, Ore.

Clearly, the system is now more out of control than the kids, so far off the mark that the leadership of the American Bar Association has voted that schools should completely do away with zero tolerance policies.

"Many of the recommended regulations would make matters worse by stripping law-abiding citizens of their chief means of self-defense. Historically, more gun laws have gone hand-in-hand with an explosion of violent crime. Only during the past decade have we seen dramatic reductions in violence, as reflected in the CDC report. Yet according to the U.S. Bureau of Justice, the number of circulating guns in the United States grew by 10 percent during the mid-1990s."

Stupid anti Gun Senator get mugged on Virginia Street, now see the light.

Says he wished he had a gun. I bet a hundred dollars he is applying for a CCW permit. When a anti gunner politican gets his head beat in, they finally see the light. Reality brings common sense to self defense issues.

One down and thousands of MMM, and anti politicans to go.

Could we hire some muscle to send a message? I know the law says no, but wouldn't it be nice?

You have a constitutional right to own a firearm -- handgun, shotgun, rifle -- if you so choose. And, like all our other rights -- free speech, freedom of religion, the right to avoid self-incrimination -- your right to own a gun cannot be "infringed," taken away, banned, limited, or ignored.

~~More wisdom from probably the best reporter/editorialist around today.

On the first anniversary of the Million Mom March for stricter gun controls, groups on both sides of the debate will square off for a rematch in weekend events across New Jersey and the nation.

"The momentum was not sustained" after last year's march, said Melanie Anagnos of Haworth. "Like with so many things in this country, when you're talking about major social change, it's difficult to get to the next step. I'm worried."

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.... We've been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of government himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden. The solutions we seek must be equitable, with no one group singled out to pay a higher price. — Ronald Reagan
