It's time to start worrying in Wisconsin

"Wisconsin police can attach GPS to cars to secretly track anybody's movements without obtaining search warrants, an appeals court ruled Thursday.

However, the District 4 Court of Appeals said it was "more than a little troubled" by that conclusion and asked Wisconsin lawmakers to regulate GPS use to protect against abuse by police and private individuals. As the law currently stands, the court said police can mount GPS on cars to track people without violating their constitutional rights -- even if the drivers aren't suspects.

Officers do not need to get warrants beforehand because GPS tracking does not involve a search or a seizure, Judge Paul Lundsten wrote for the unanimous three-judge panel based in Madison. That means "police are seemingly free to secretly track anyone's public movements with a GPS device," he wrote."

The . . Daily News concurs in an editorial today entitled "Gangster Government" -- Obama Rejects The Rule Of Law:

"A frightening aspect of President Obama’s near dictatorial control of the American economy isn’t merely the cataclysmic shift in the relationship between the federal government and business. Rather, it is what Mr. Obama’s power grab represents: disrespect for the rule of law and the Constitution."

Indeed. It is not like this comes a surprise to American gun owners. Like John McClain in Die Hard, we can only shout .. in exasperation, "Welcome to the party, pal!" . . The old paradigm (of) The Untouchables is no longer true . . Imagine a remake of that Costner movie with Eliot Ness & Al Capone as business partners.

The firearms industry appears to be riding out the recession in fine form, with sales across the country flourishing. And the enthusiasm for purchasing such weaponry has spread to communities south of Boston, according to area gun dealers.

Submitter's note: For the third time in two weeks the usually anti-gun Boston Globe reports about guns, and for once does not get in any really anti-gun comments.

"At least the Salem witches got a trial, could face their accusers, and hear all the 'evidence' against them."

"This is intended as an in-your-face threat against activist gun owners, a way to chill their agitation, and ultimately a way to prohibit them from 'legal' gun ownership. And they'll get to the less active ones next."

"I see this as a terrorist act, disguised in all the trappings of legality. Strip those away and I see naked tyranny."

Two artists have offered Czechs angered by politics the chance to take revenge on their lawmakers by shooting them literally in the face, by turning their photos into air gun targets.

Tomas Cap and Michal Kraus have displayed the portraits of 200 lower-house deputies in plastic boxes on the wall of a Prague alternative gallery, in front of an air gun and a boxful of ammunition.

Four-year-old Shyla Aston died Friday, and 6-year-old Shianna Aston is still in the hospital.

They were hit just after 7 Thursday night. They were crossing the street -- hand in hand -- on the way to a friend's house, when a car driven by 56-year-old Leroy Hoover hit the girls, running them over.

Witnesses say Hoover tried to take off but a neighbor held him at gunpoint until police got there.

"He hit the gas and was attempting to flee the scene and that's when I jumped out in front and stopped him at gunpoint," said Alan Knepp. "Took his keys from him and told him he wasn't going anywhere."

"The U.S. Census Bureau is simply an excuse – a harmless looking means of obtaining the front door coordinates. The creation of GPS coordinates for front doors has nothing to do with the census, in all honesty, no matter how much the United States government tries to convince you that it does." People lets get the GPS coordinates for every politician, judge, attorney and them a message that "WE THE PEOPLE" are watching you too!!!

A 7-year-old boy who was allegedly shot in the head by a couple who thought he and three other people were trespassing on their property died Saturday, authorities said.

Sheila Muhs and her husband, Gayle Muhs, both 45, were charged with second-degree felony counts of aggravated assault in the shootings Thursday.

Authorities said the couple fired after they mistakenly thought the group was trespassing on their property.

The Houston Chronicle reported that a sign in front of the suspects' home reads: "Trespassers will be shot. Survivers will be reshot!! Smile I will."

Bishop said there was no indication the unarmed victims did anything threatening toward the Muhs.

The cop grabbed his own revolver and fired, hitting Singleton once in the shoulder, cops said. A loaded .25-caliber handgun was recovered at the scene. Singleton was treated at Kings County Hospital. He was charged with attempted robbery and weapons possession.

A new gun law being considered in Congress, if aligned with Department of Homeland Security memos labeling everyday Americans as potential "threats," could potentially deny firearms to pro-lifers, gun-rights advocates, tax protesters, animal rights activists, and a host of others – any already on the expansive DHS watch list for potential "extremism."
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., has sponsored H.R. 2159, the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009, which permits the attorney general to deny transfer of a firearm to any "known or suspected dangerous terrorist."The bill requires only that the potential firearm transferee is "appropriately suspected" of preparing for a terrorist

At the rate that the U.S. economy is tanking (Thank you, "Federal" Reserve!), along with the continuous onslaught of not-so-secret gunvernment documents that keep surfacing which reveal the growing paranoia of our current Federal Gunvernment, pretty soon the term "banana republic" will mean more than just a fashionable clothing store in the United States.

Fueled by rumors that the Obama administration will ban assault weapons and heavily tax ammunition, gun enthusiasts are stocking up.

Don't be lulled into a false sense of "complacency," National Rifle Association vice president Wayne LaPierre is urging his members. He predicts it is only a matter of time before the Obama administration launches a campaign "to deny our firearms freedoms."

Winchester Ammunition says on its Web site that its operations are "running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." The Federal Premium Ammunition Web site says demand for its products is at an "all-time high"

A number of recent polls show that Americans are growing increasingly less supportive of new restrictions to regulate firearms. The Houston Chronicle reported this week that the shift in public opinion is so strong that a potential ban on so-called "assault weapons" -- once backed by 3 in 4 Americans -- "now rates barely 1 in 2." Said Frank Newport, editor-in-chief of the Gallup Poll, "Every bit of data is showing us that Americans are getting more conservative about gun control."

More on the case we've been following on the gun bans in city parks festering up in the Fort Smith area.

HT to our friends, the Arkansas Carry guys, and Steve Jones who brought the matter to the attention of law officials.

This from 20/40 News, "Steve Jones of Arkansas Carry, a local gun rights group, sent a letter to Sebastian County Judge David Hudson last week asking him to change the current law banning fire arms from Ben Geren Park.

"We got conflicting laws here. I don't believe Sebastian County even knew they had a law conflicting with the state law," Jones said.

Hudson said he along with other county officials are looking into laws concerning concealed weapons in Arkansas.

We have examined this issue here ad nauseum, but this article by Bryan Hendricks is a good read.

This from NWA News, "The AGFC's position is safe. However, a right-to-hunt amendment might produce a new generation of legal wrangling at the margins of the hunting culture. For example, the first constitutional court battle over the right to hunt in the United States took place in April 2005 in Virginia. The case was Orion Sporting Group, LLC v. Board of Supervisors of Nelson County. Optima Adventures obtained a permit from Nelson County, Virginia, to offer hunting and shotgun target shooting at Orion Estates, its corporate retreat

A first of it's kind web based initiative to send a message to congress that we will not give up our 2nd Amendment rights.

It's not a petition, it's a letter and it will go to every member of congress.

HT Via cjnorris1 on Twitter.

"The following is a group letter, not a petition. It was written collaboratively by 454 individuals over the course of six weeks. This is the result of a first-of-its-kind experiment in modernizing constituent communication with Congress run by the nonpartisan website GovTrack.us using the letter writing tool MixedInk.com. For more about the letter writing process, see below the letter."

Some text from the letter:

WE are tired of our rights being denigrated and destroyed.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins ... Society is in every state a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. — THOMAS PAINE
