A federal judge has blocked the Biden administration from enforcing a new rule in Texas that would require firearms dealers to run background checks on buyers at gun shows or other places outside brick-and-mortar stores. The decision by U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, came before the rule had been set to take effect Monday. The order also prevents the federal government from enforcing the rule against several gun-rights groups, including Gun Owners of America. It does not apply to Louisiana, Mississippi and Utah, which were also part of the lawsuit.

Some of the immediate feedback we got when interviewing CZ's CEO recently was gripes that we didn't grill him about the company's lack of optics-ready models. There's a reason for that: they were already in the works. We managed to get the lowdown on the new line at the 2024 NRA Annual Meetings in Dallas. The new guns include OR models of the CZ subsidiary Dan Wesson's DWX, DWX Compact, Kodiak, Bruin, and Specialist, with more "on the way."

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
As I have stood in the crosshairs of those who target Second Amendment freedoms, I've realized that firearms are not the only issue. No, it's much, much bigger than that. I've come to understand that a cultural war is raging across our land, in which, with Orwellian fervor, certain acceptable thoughts and speech are mandated. — Charlton Heston
