Scott Kane went 38 years without ever touching a gun. That streak would have continued had it not been for the coronavirus. In March, fearful of the harassment his wife and child experienced over their Asian ancestry, Kane found himself in a California gun shop. His March 11 purchase of a 9mm would have been the end of the story, were it not for a political standoff over shutdown orders and background checks. Now Kane, a former supporter of gun-control measures and AR-15 bans, is frustrated by the arduous process that has denied his family a sense of security. The pandemic has made the soft-spoken software engineer an unlikely Second Amendment supporter.

A leading gun control advocacy group has enlisted more than a dozen religious leaders to increase voter turnout this fall in support of candidates who support measures to prevent gun violence.

Everytown for Gun Safety, which expects to spend $60 million on this year's elections, is forging its interfaith effort amid ongoing concerns about shootings at houses of worship. The group's partners include representatives from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and Sikh backgrounds, several of them well-known progressive activists.

If Lisa McCormick is this tough on Democrats, how bad will she beat up Republicans?

Lisa McCormick is a Democrat, through and through. She has talked about repealing the Second Amendment, retooling our economy to work without fossil fuels and increasing taxes on the rich to give bigger Social Security checks to retired senior citizens, a quality education to all our children, and health coverage to every American.

But it’s not just Whitehouse’s personality, it’s tactical. Rao is a potential nominee to the Supreme Court, particularly now that she has appellate court experience. That’s why Whitehouse and other Democrats fought a vicious battle when Trump nominated her to fill the seat vacated when Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Rao has impressive conservative legal credentials, as her Federalist Society biography at the time of her nomination showed:

Information is still emerging about the case of Ahmaud Arbery — the unarmed 25-year-old slain on a quiet Georgia street — but what is known is disturbing. Two men eventually arrested in the killing told police that Arbery was running down the road and that they thought he was a burglar and shot him in self-defense. A third man was arrested Thursday. Before state officials intervened, following months of delay, a prosecutor cited Georgia’s stand-your-ground law as an exonerating factor.

Mr. Wine’s decision to drop charges came one day after Mr. Eggert filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that prosecutors failed to present a full and fair picture to the grand jury. Specifically, Mr. Eggert contended that they neglected to present Mr. Walker’s claim that he was acting in self-defense.

The liberal wing of the High Court sided with Respondent in the New York City gun transport case. No surprise there. The liberal wing of the Court detests the Second Amendment.

Chief Justice John Roberts joined the liberal wing. Robert’s vote gave the liberal wing of the Court—Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan—the critical fifth vote needed to secure victory for the Anti-Second Amendment, Anti-Bill of Rights crowd. A huge disappointment, of course, but no surprise there either, unfortunately. The two-page majority opinion went unsigned.

Virginia Republicans have not won a statewide election in more than a decade.

In a June primary, three GOP hopefuls, all rookies in Virginia politics, are seeking a chance to break that drought by defeating Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., in November. There's a big, added challenge for candidates without statewide name recognition - campaigning amid COVID-19, which has killed more than 1,000 Virginians, according to state data.

Second, many Americans don’t understand the Second Amendment. It wasn’t placed in the U.S. Constitution for hunters. It was placed there to allow the citizens of the United States to own firearms for self-defense and to insure the security of a free state. Some believe only the military should have guns, but the Second amendment specifically intended to allow everyday citizens the ability to protect themselves and their country. We as citizens are guardians of the Second Amendment. No one should be neutral on the Second amendment. It is our duty to uphold it. The Second amendment protects the rest of the Bill of Rights. Younger Americans need to understand the importance of the Second amendment.

A San Antonio, Texas man discovered someone that appeared to be trying to break into his car about 3:00 AM earlier this month. He went out to investigate and confronted the suspect who then pulled a gun on the homeowner. The homeowner then drew his own gun and shots were exchanged.

The suspect ran off but was later found dead by a police K-9 unit. The homeowner was uninjured. No word on any charges against the homeowner.

Nobody wants to allow someone to break into their car and the law does permit the use of reasonable non-deadly force to prevent someone from doing so. But what happens if the burglar breaking into your car is armed as was the case with this homeowner?

And if he is elected, Dr. Gross is all in to caucus with the Democrats, just like the Senate's current two independents—Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Angus King of Maine—meaning Democrats would be one seat closer to flipping the upper chamber. Democrats need to win three GOP-held seats if former Vice President Joe Biden wins the election or four, if President Trump is re-elected.

The following letter was sent out this morning to Tax Collector Maloy and Leon County Administrator Vince Long. This gives Ms. Maloy the opportunity to do the right thing and reverse her decision to refuse to process CW Licenses when her office re-opens on June 1, 2020.

The data is in: Americans are flocking to gun stores in unprecedented numbers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The spike has left many gun control advocates struggling to find a motive other than pure, irrational panic. After all, the common narrative goes, “the good guy with a gun” is a myth and it’s very rare that any law-abiding Americans have to defend themselves at gunpoint.

Enter The Heritage Foundation’s new Defensive Gun Use Database to help make sense of why so many Americans are now racing to exercise their Second Amendment rights, often for the first time.

The raging Dr. Jennifer Rager-Kay made news earlier this week when a private social media post she wrote became public. The Pennsylvania physician and school board member had threatened to shoot anyone not wearing a mask who approached her or her family.

As a result of the predictable blowback she’s received for making the threat, Dr. Rager-Kay has resigned her school board position. But in her resignation letter, she manages to deflect all blame for what’s happened and portray herself as a victim, while also blaming — wait for it — gun owners.
