The Supreme Court refused Monday to decide if the Second Amendment protects gun silencers such as the one used in last month's Virginia Beach shooting that killed 12 people.
Without comment or dissent, the justices turned away petitions from the operator of a Kansas army-surplus store and one of his customers who purchased an unregistered silencer in violation of federal law.

“Trump telling Piers Morgan that semi-automatic guns are for entertainment is grounds for impeachment,” self-described “comedian” Chelsea Handler tweeted Wednesday. “There are thousands of parents grieving and he calls guns entertainment. I can’t wait to elect a strong leader who has the courage to stand up to the NRA. That will be a leader.”

City Hall will keep making pawn brokers report firearm serial numbers to Sioux Falls police despite a recently passed law that asserts municipalities can’t make up their own rules around guns. The state Legislature this winter passed House Bill 1056 – effective next month – that makes clear that only South Dakota state government has the right to regulate the possession, sale or purchase of firearms. It was a reaction to municipalities that have local gun-related ordinances.

One month ago I was relishing holding an unfilled turkey tag. Birds were active and vocal and I took great satisfaction in my time afield, even though I didn’t have a chance to fill a tag for myself or daughter. The month of May weather-wise was equal parts glorious and awful. We had some days of full sunshine and light winds but more days of rain and cool weather.

In the days before President Lyndon Baines Johnson, black Republicans were a thing. And chief among them was Samuel B. Fuller. Fuller was a black American entrepreneur in the mid-Century United States. More than just an entrepreneur, he also gave back to the black community by providing both inspirational speeches as well as nuts-and-bolts training at a time when entrepreneurially minded black Americans had precious few options for either. Some entrepreneurs trained or inspired by Fuller include John H. Johnson of Johnson Publishing and George Ellis Johnson of Johnson Products.

More than two dozen guns were stolen from a South Anchorage firearms dealer early Thursday after thieves drove a stolen vehicle through the shop’s front doors, federal authorities said.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Friday that four suspects with their faces covered rammed through the front entrance of Granny’s Guns on Dowling Road around 3:59 a.m.

The thieves took at least 26 rifles and handguns, loading them into a separate vehicle before driving away. The vehicle they used to ram the store’s front doors was left at the scene, and the other was found later Thursday.

By Friday morning, the store had managed to construct a makeshift, Plexiglas facade with an “open” sign hanging from the door.

To complement its P320/M17—the duty handgun chosen by the U.S. Army—SIG Sauer is now offering M17 ammunition. This ammo is loaded to military specifications. (Just so you know, there are a variety of ammunition specifications used by the military. The particular specification SIG Sauer conforms to with its M17 ammo does not include waterproofing.) The two 9 mm M17 loads being offered are a 124-grain, V-Crown hollowpoint and a traditional, 124-grain FMJ bullet. Both are loaded to +P velocities, as specified by SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer’s Institute).

Okay, PolitiFact, you may have flagged my story about the media being silent about 18 migrants dying under the custody of border enforcement authorities under the Obama administration; they thought we had said 18 children, which would’ve been inaccurate—but that really wasn’t an issue because that’s made clear in our headline. These fact checkers obviously didn’t read the post.

Hi-Point makes cheap guns. We all know that. We also know they back their guns with a no-questions-asked lifetime warranty. Heck, they gave one guy a new barrel after he clogged up his Hi-Point carbine barrel with 35 bullets! Providing “free repairs for the life of the gun” is a great selling point… but many people don’t own Hi-Point guns and don’t really want one. Why not? In this video, Paul Harrell takes a look at one of their 45 ACP pistols in hopes of answering that question.

Some of us were carrying slim pistols before slim was cool. Before the S&W Shield, Springfield XD-S, G43 and SIG P365, there was the … dare I say it? The 1911. And, for easier concealment, 1911s with 4-1/4, 4 and even 3" barrels. It’s true Smith & Wesson came late to the 1911 party (actually, a year shy of 100 years late, since the first S&W 1911s rolled out in 2010) and they got rave reviews.

After the recent shooting in Virginia Beach, Democrat politicians said US gun owners were causing mass murder. Biased journalists said the same thing, and both of them are fantastically wrong. The real mass murderers are the people who claim to be for “gun safety”. The results are shocking once you look at the data and once you uncover a few facts.

The politically charged environment emanating from the south Bay Area and challenging the very fundamental notion of physics in skewing light and liberty 270 degrees towards an extreme westerly direction and ultimately creating a dual existence based on delusion and intolerance, just received an infusion of meticulous innovation. No, the stirring and inspiring echoes from a Steve Kerr pregame rally cry filled with Marxist inclinations did not inspire legions of doughy techies to overrun local gyms and outdoor basketball courts with vigor and revolutionary fervor.

Late one night in West Philadelphia, a storeowner was at the counter of his business when a masked man with a gun entered the building. The man then tried to rob the store as the owner and a clerk were inside. The owner pulled out his pistol and fired at the masked robber, who was hit in the stomach. The robber fired several missed shots at the storeowner as he fled the premises and entered a getaway car. Police later found the masked man unconscious in the driver’s seat of a car with a pistol on his lap. The robber was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Blacksburg lawyer Joseph Graham Painter asked a judge to restore his firearm rights for the third time Monday, but again he was denied because of his history of criminal charges and mental health issues. The ruling underscores yet again that while the Virginia State Bar Association deems Painter qualified to practice law, courts continue to deem him unqualified to possess firearms.
