TV panel discusses Mexican hunting dangers and inhumane Humane Society practices

... "Two topics were selected for discussion, the first being hunting in Mexico, often under armed guards due to cartel terror (with a segue into Fast and Furious), and the second being the blackmail-style pressure the Humane Society of the United States brings to bear on conservation charities to not accept contributions from hunters. Their ruthlessness is shocking, and it actually works against their advertised mission and creates a devastating and wholly unjustifiable extinction threat to endangered species. This is a story that’s been underreported and is probably news to even most hunters." ...

"The concept of microstamping is fairly well-known by now. It involves a laser-engraved number of a firing pin which transfers that code number to the primer of a cartridge. Its proponents argue that it will allow police to identify firearms used in crimes by shell casings left at the scene. That is, if only it was reliable and worked as its inventor and the gun control lobby said it would." ...

"Its inventor, Todd Lizotte, ... had wanted his patent on the process to lapse into the public domain. The patent issue is critical for it to go into operation in California. He and his backers just didn't figure in the tech industry savvy of the CalGuns Foundations whose officers know a thing or two about patents." ...

The Different Types of “Anti-Gunners” and How To Change Their Mind

"Why are some people 'anti-gun'?"

"Well with over 500 documented cases right here on this site of citizens lawfully using firearms to defend either themselves (in less than a year by the way), their families, their homes, or complete strangers you would think people would understand why firearms are a needed tool in modern society. However, we all know that is not the case. There are still multitudes of Americans who would be classified as 'Anti-Gun'."

"Why is this? In this article we’ll present several theories that we think might shed some light on the way anti-gun people think. When dealing with someone who is anti-gun it is easy to become emotional and not look at the reasons the person feels the way they do. ..." ...

"When we hear the term 'tracker,' most of us think back to the days of John Wayne and the 7th Cavalry, conjuring up images of the tracker dismounting his horse, observing the ground, and quickly relaying fascinating information from a single traqck. What most would consider 'only in the movies' is very close to reality and is currently employed as a viable skill set in numerous low-intensity conflicts in more relevant and modern times. ..."

Self-Defense Tip: Avoid Training Scars

"Train as you mean to fight. Problem: it’s simply not possible at a traditional or 'square' gun range. Sure you can train yourself to load and handle your gun properly and hit that at which you’re aiming. But there’s no shoot/no shoot interaction. No movement. No cover or concealment. No stress. Most ranges won’t even let you draw from a holster or rapid fire. Unless you’re running through reality-based scenarios using your actual self-defense equipment against [role-playing] bad guys intent on doing you [pretend] harm in a [semi] realistic environment, you’re training is incomplete. To say the least. Because it’s entirely possible that it’s worse than that. You could be training yourself to fail . . ." ...

Instead of flogging the same tired product line for decades or blindly copying other makers’ designs, Taurus has never been afraid to try something new. "For the last couple of months I’ve been road-testing gun cases. I’ve been traveling with long guns and it can be a royal pain in the ass. There are times when I simply have to have a good rock-solid case, like a Pelican or an ECS. Flying with a rifle, for example, can be cumbersome and a lockable, waterproof, crushproof case can make things much easier."
