During Peekskill’s first Guns to Garden Tools event, which will take place on Saturday, June 28th from 4:30-5:30 PM at Peekskill Regeneration Farm, 800 Main Street, Peekskill, metal from firearms that were turned in to the Peekskill Police Department will be melted and forged into garden-tools. These garden-tools will be used by community members as they expand or create vegetable and pollinator gardens across the city. |

New York Attorney General Letitia James today announced that 367 firearms were turned in at a community gun buyback event in Schenectady hosted by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), the New York State Police, the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office, the Schenectady Police Department, and local police departments. This event was part of Attorney General James’ ongoing effort to combat gun violence and keep New Yorkers safe. To date, Attorney General James has removed more than 9,500 guns from New York state since taking office in 2019. |
