A man who shot and killed another in Springfield was acting in self-defense, prosecutors said.
A press release from the Sangamon County state's attorney said the shooting happened at 3:30 a.m. on July 7, when Martin A. Brown, 26, was inside of a home in the 1400 block of N. 11th St. Prosecutors said Willie C. Evans, 29, arrived at the home, banged on the door repeatedly and threatened violence. |

With all the rioting, burning and stealing all of us have recently seen on TV while our illustrious politicians just stand by and let the criminals loot and destroy while saying nothing, you might want to consider this question: “Can you defend your property if a criminal decides to torch, steal or even harm you in your home?”
Unfortunately in this state with our wimpy politicians the answer is basically, “No, until the criminal is inside your home and you feel imminent harm!” It appears our politicians would rather protect the criminal’s rights then all of us law-abiding Massachusetts citizens. And now some of our mayors and governors want to dismantle or defund our police forces, leaving us with less protection than we now have. |

The issue before the en banc Young court is whether the Second Amendment protects the right of law-abiding citizens to openly carry firearms outside the home. In 2016, an en banc panel of the Ninth Circuit held that the Second Amendment does not protect the right to carry a concealed firearm. Thus, a three-judge panel in 2018 held that the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms must protect the right to openly carry a firearm. An en banc panel of the court will now reconsider the open carry issue. |

This is gun confiscation, a very clever and insidious method financed by Michael Bloomberg , setting the table to end gun ownership. The bill imposes extreme solutions to rare problems, it impedes on Second Amendment Rights, and provides for” Star Chamber” hearings of the accused. Gun owners are good people, spend your time arresting the gangs of thugs that shoot little boys and girls with illegal guns in Chicago and Atlanta. Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty or Safety”, Benjamin Franklin. Call Governor Sununu to veto this terrible bill. 603 271 2121. DDC stands for Deep Concealment Carry. While there are apparently some guys out there that have limited professional or social obligations who can get away with carrying their full-size service pistol and multiple reloads every day, most of us can’t do that consistently. Therefore, if you want to stay armed at all times legally possible, you may need to have a DCC that consists of a different toolset better geared for concealment in less permissive environments. |

Stockbridge Mayor Anthony Ford was one of ten Georgia mayors who signed a letter sent last month to state legislatures urging that they take action to repeal the state’s “stand your ground” law.
City spokesperson Shana Thornton told the Times that Ford acted independently on the issue and did not confer with the City Council or any city officials. She also furnished the following statement from the mayor: |
