The meetings begin at 6 p.m. at the YMCS Greenbridge Learning Center in White Center, 9720 – 8th Ave. SW, just south of Seattle.

A Natrona County District Court judge erred earlier this year when she dismissed the first-degree murder case of a Casper man who claimed self-defense under the state's new "stand your ground" law, according to a petition filed by the Wyoming Attorney General's Office on Monday. Jason John was charged with first-degree murder after he repeatedly shot Wesley Willow at John's home in north Casper a year ago, according to the petition from the Wyoming attorneys and Natrona County Assistant District Attorney Kevin Taheri.

The multi-island paradise of Hawaii is rapidly becoming an Orwellian political dystopia. On July 11, Chris Eger of Guns.Com reported that (no shock) the Democratic Governor of the state, David Ige, signed into effect two new anti-gun statutes that not only infringe on the right to keep and bear arms but also stand as insults to logic and common sense.

City council had two different gun restriction proposals to consider on Monday night, but chose their third option: tabling it for the time being until more research could be done. The city knew this was going to be a hot button issue, and they brought in a lot of extra police security to prepare for it. Josh Mandelbaum and Chris Coleman brought the proposed ordinance forward because of concerns from a lot of citizen.

Greene County has failed to make itself a pro-gun Second Amendment sanctuary, NBC affiliate WCYB reports. There weren’t enough votes in Monday night’s county commissioners meeting to pass the resolution. The idea stemmed from a state bill that didn't pass, but would have allowed police to confiscate guns from residents flagged as dangerous by family or law enforcement.

The co-owner of Accuracy Firearms in Effingham said the new Illinois law that takes effect Wednesday requiring gun dealers to get state licenses has already cost his business money. "I had to buy two different signs that the state specified how big the letters had to be on the sign," said Levi Slater. Those two signs let customers know they are being recorded on surveillance and provide information about gun transfers. Slater said when someone comes into his store, visible cameras already let them know they are being recorded.

A hollow point bullet is easily recognizable by the nose – because while they are not hollow bullets, they do have hollow tips. It will have an indentation, dip, cup, “x,” or some other easily identifiable mark or alteration that lets you know exactly what it is. The main reasons people flock to hollow points are for personal defense and hunting. However, there is also a strong following among competition shooters who like the increased accuracy that hollow-point bullets can offer.

There is a rise in concealed carry for women and here are the handguns that are leading the way. The Model 43 was Glock’s first 9×19 compact pistol with a single-stack magazine. Thanks to its low recoil and good ergonomics, Glock 43 will suit many female shooters. I first learned about Glock guns from the publication of Phil Engeldrum in the gun magazine. He wrote that this new crazy gun, he saw in Europe, would win the market. He also said this: “If you need to carry a gun, you may need to carry two.” And he was right both times.

It’s one of the paradoxes of hunting and shooting — the novice hunter, most likely not very skilled at shooting off-hand, is also the one most likely to use the off-hand position in shooting at game. The veteran hunter, even if he does have some skill in off-hand shooting, almost always looks for a rest of some sort and seldom shoots without support in the field

Legal challenges have created an uncertain future for Washington’s new gun control laws enacted by the passage of Initiative 1639. But the one thing that is certain is the law went into effect July 1 and for now, love it or hate it, it’s here. “What do you do? You have to follow the law,” said Joe Rosbach, owner of Joe’s Outdoor Sport Shop, Inc. in Chehalis.

Something’s a bit off about Tom Payne, a rancher who laid down his badge to reap the easy life out West. He’s got the look down — leather boots, chaps, even the old, reliable Winchester rifle — but when Payne speaks, he sounds a lot more like Tom Colaluca, a guy who’s barely a hundred miles west of the Bronx. Turns out this cowboy had rustled up some Yankees game tickets the night before, too.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is working to solve a problem more than a century in the making--overpopulation of deer that is putting pressure on birds, insects, and native plants on island habitats. “Humans largely extirpated the predators on the islands as far back as the 1860s,” said Ruth Milner, WDFW biologist. “And, with fewer people hunting the islands, deer are over browsing native vegetation, which means less habitat for other species.”

Maryland has a thriving black bear population and one way to help deter the animal's expansion into the eastern suburbs and cities while simultaneously culling the growing population is with a hunting lottery. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for the state's 2019 black bear hunt lottery. Successful applicants will receive a permit valid for the five-day hunting season that will occur Oct. 21-25 in Allegany, Frederick, Garrett and Washington counties, which is where the state's greatest bear population is located. The department will issue 800 hunting permits this year.
