Police say a 14-year-old was the youngest in a group of three juveniles and one adult to break into two gun shops early Sunday.

Kent County Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young confirmed the ages Thursday, July 18.

She said it was “somewhat surprising” to learn that a 14-year-old took part in a pair of gun-shop thefts.

“I can’t say it’s unheard of though,” she said.

The teens and adult are accused of breaking into Imperial Gunworx at 134 E. Division St. NW in the village of Sparta and taking 19 handguns July 14, then later the same morning breaking into Armory Valentine Gun Store in Kentwood, 3876 East Paris Ave. SE, and taking more firearms.

Church attendance in the United States is at an all-time low, according to a Gallup poll released in April 2019. This decline has not been a steady one. Indeed, over the last 20 years, church attendance has fallen by 20 percent. This might not sound like cause for concern off the bat. And if you’re not a person of faith, you might rightly wonder why you would care about such a thing.

On July 18th, Initiative Petition 40 was filed in Oregon to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law abiding adults by imposing a broad, one-size-fits-all method of storing firearms. This egregious attack on our freedoms uses virtually the same language as the failed Initiative Petition 44 from 2018 as well as the same provisions from Senate Bill 978 that did not pass during the 2019 legislative session. Anti-gun proponents will stop at nothing to restrict self-defense rights in Oregon, and will be using this initiative petition in an attempt to coerce legislators to pass gun control during the 2020 short session.

After two years of state investigations and numerous lawsuits, the National Rifle Association has stopped offering its Carry Guard self-defense insurance products.

The Carry Guard website has been stripped of all mentions of insurance. Contacted by The Trace, a representative confirmed that no new policies would be issued through Carry Guard, but said the NRA planned to launch a new insurance product in the future.

In addition to insurance, Carry Guard includes a training program, designed to teach gun owners how to “effectively confront today’s evolving conflict environment.”

The firearms ban covering U.S. Capitol grounds doesn’t violate due process or the Second Amendment, a federal appeals court has ruled.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit upheld the law July 19, denying a challenge by Rodney Class, who pleaded guilty after being found in a car with three guns in a parking area serving the Capitol.

Second, the lot is close to the Capitol and legislative office buildings. Class possessed a firearm less than 1,000 feet away from the entrance to the Capitol, and a block away from the Rayburn House Office Building. Although there is surely some outer bound on the distance Congress could extend the area of protection around the Capitol without raising Second Amendment concerns, Congress has not exceeded it here.

The .357 SIG is a potent pistol cartridge designed in 1994 to replicate the ballistics of the .357 Mag. revolver cartridge and fit in a standard-size semi-automatic pistol. It does this very well with a 125-grain bullet at 1,350 fps from a 4-inch barrel. It does not quite equal the 357 Magnum's load of a 125-grain bullet at 1,450 fps from the same barrel length, but it's close. It's powerful enough to fill many roles; law enforcement, self defense, trail gun and so on.

The Facts Are In, And Doctors Are More Likely To Kill You Than A Gun

Not only that, the study (conveniently) ignored the fact that doctor’s negligence results in far more deaths of innocent people than guns.

The number is so high — more than 250,000 deaths — you can conclude that doctors negligently kill Americans seven times as often as guns do.

These medical mistakes range from operating on the wrong person or the wrong part of the body, to giving mistaken dosages or leaving surgical instruments inside of patients.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Without freedom there will be no firearms among the people; without firearms among the people there will not long be freedom. Certainly there are examples of countries where the people remain relatively free after the people have been disarmed, but there are no examples of a totalitarian state being created or existing where the people have personal arms. — Neal Knox
