New documents detail a stabbing incident at an Oklahoma City Waffle House, suggesting it may have been a case of self-defense involving employees during a fight outside the restaurant on Monday night.
"On the surface, this appears possibly a self-defense situation,” said Oklahoma City Police Master Sgt. Dillon Quirk.
The probable cause affidavit describes the brawl outside the Waffle House, where surveillance footage shows a group that had just left the store being approached by the store's cook and server.
An argument took place, and the cook allegedly cornered the victim near their car, leading to a fistfight.
"One of the victims was assaulted by the employee, at which time a knife was produced," Quirk said. |

New information on a deadly road rage shooting in Allentown.
The Lehigh County District Attorney's Office ruled the shooting was self-defense and no charges will be filed.
The shooting happened on July 6.
The DA's office says surveillance footage showed 35-year-old Tamir Johnson forcing another driver to the curb.
That's when Johnson reportedly got out of his vehicle and was swinging a baseball bat at the other car.
That driver, who legally owned a handgun, fired it once at Johnson, killing him. |

A coalition of Second Amendment organizations and individual plaintiffs has filed a federal lawsuit against New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin and State Police Superintendent Patrick Callahan, challenging the state’s complete ban on the possession of firearm suppressors. The plaintiffs argue that the ban violates the Second and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.
Filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the complaint (Case No. 25-13527) seeks declaratory and injunctive relief to overturn the state’s criminal prohibition on suppressors, also known as silencers. |

Claiming New Jersey’s ban on firearm suppressors is unconstitutional, a coalition of Second Amendment organizations has filed a federal lawsuit challenging the state’s prohibition, setting the stage for another high-profile legal battle which could wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court…if the court decides to take such a case.
The court’s recent track record suggests to many in the gun rights movement the justices are a bit timid about taking on landmark Second Amendment cases. |

Under federal law, Americans who have been convicted of crimes that are punishable by prison sentences of more than one year’s duration are automatically deprived of their constitutional right to keep and bear arms—even after their sentences have been completed and even if the person never actually served a day in custody. This rule has been in force since the passage of the 1968 Gun Control Act, and it is applied everywhere in the country, irrespective of the character of the crime at hand. |

A District Court judge in California has denied in part a Motion to Dismiss (MTD) in a ruling that favors the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and its partners in CRPA v. LASD, SAF’s challenge to lengthy concealed carry permit wait times in Los Angeles.
The California Rifle & Pistol Association (CRPA), joined by the Second Amendment Foundation and others, has filed a federal lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD), La Verne Police Department (LVPD), and California Attorney General Rob Bonta. This case challenges unconstitutional delays, excessive fees, and subjective “suitability” requirements in California’s concealed carry permit (CCW) process. |

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is working to create a new process so nonviolent individuals who have lost their right to keep and bear arms because of prior criminal convictions can regain those rights after paying their debt to society.
As the DOJ explained in a statement released on July 18, President Trump directed the Department of Justice to address the ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of all citizens. However, federal law disables the firearms rights of many citizens who have been convicted of crimes without regard to whether they actually pose a threat of violence. |

In the landscape of contemporary photography, few projects shake core assumptions as deeply as Concealed by Blake Little. The work of the American photographer—dating back to 2019—moves across a terrain that is both controversial and timely: the intersection between the LGBTQ+ community and the right to bear arms in the United States.
The project portrays members of the Pink Pistols, an association of LGBTQ+ gun owners that grew exponentially after the tragic Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando in 2016. “Pick on someone your own caliber” is the group’s motto—challenging traditional narratives about who deserves protection, self-defense, and belonging. |

The war on homemade firearms is moving into the digital age, and the attacks are coming from every angle imaginable. From federal judges to Big Tech platforms and even AI-powered printers, “ghost guns” have become the latest boogeyman for freedom-hating bureaucrats who are determined to stomp out the right to make and own arms.
Things heated up in March, when Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg took his crusade global by pressuring 3D printer manufacturers to install artificial intelligence systems designed to scan and block 3D data files that resemble gun parts. Thingiverse, the world’s largest 3D printing file site, caved first—rolling out automated systems to detect and delete firearm-related files... |

The South Dakota Board of Regents approved a policy on Thursday in Brookings allowing people with enhanced permits to carry concealed pistols on the state’s public university campuses.
“This is something that we don’t take lightly,” said Regents Executive Director Nathan Lukkes.
The policy was necessitated by a law that took effect July 1, after lawmakers approved it during this year’s winter legislative session in Pierre. The prior policy prohibited guns and other dangerous weapons on campuses. |

I should have known better — Bill Wilson of Wilson Combat (WC) has his act together. This past fall I received a couple of NULA rifles from WC to review and one of them, their 20S, was chambered for 300 HAM’R.
“What’s a 300 HAM’R?” I asked the WC media representative. I reluctantly agree and receive the scoped rifle, along with a nice sample of Lehigh Defense ammunition (which WC also owns) in a few days. |

A new law that went into effect this year allows gun owners in New Hampshire to bring their gun to work – but not all the way inside.
After a security guard was shot and killed while in the line of duty at the New Hampshire Hospital in 2023, some lawmakers pushed for new gun regulations in 2024. But instead, the only laws passed in New Hampshire that year expanded gun rights: including the rules around guns at work.
New Hampshire has some of the least restrictive gun laws in the country, and that extends to places of employment. While private businesses can choose to forbid guns inside the workplace, a New Hampshire law that went into effect this year limits how far they can go. |

A leading anti-gun firebrand on Capitol Hill this week introduced a measure that would skyrocket the federal tax on NFA items like suppressors and short-barreled firearms.
U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat who has signed on to just about every wandering gun ban and restriction that has come through Congress in the past two decades, on Tuesday suggested new tax rates on NFA items.
His proposed amendment to a Republican military spending bill would set the typical $200 making and transfer tax on most items to $4,709 and move the $5 tax on AOWs to $55. |

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the optics-ready FPC has an overall length of 30.375” and a compact folded length of 16.375”. It features a 16.25” threaded barrel, comes with a handguard that includes an upper Picatinny rail and M-LOK slots for accessory mounting capabilities, three 20-round magazines, and a fixed 14.5” LOP stock with magazine storage. The horizontal folding mechanism of the FPC provides a locking latch to enable secured transport and prevents interference with most top-mounted optics or accessories. Inspired by M&P handguns, its compact grip ships with four interchangeable palmswell inserts allowing users to adjust for comfort, and the familiar flat-face trigger design offers a crisp break and reset. |

A leading 3D printing site has agreed to purge its library of downloadable gun designs at the urging of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. However, it's unlikely to slow the proliferation of 3D printed weapons, as many other sites offer downloadable gun designs and parts.
Earlier this year, Bragg wrote to 3D printing companies, asking them to ensure their services can’t be used to create firearms. On Saturday, Bragg announced that one such company, Thingiverse, would remove working gun models from its site. The company operates a popular free library of 3D design files and had already banned weapons in its terms of use, but is now promising to improve its moderation procedures and technology. |

Elizabeth Tejeda and Demia Burrell-Brinkley have never met, but they took the same path to prison: Both women bought guns for people legally barred from owning them.
Tejeda bought eight handguns over a six-month period in Philadelphia in a scheme authorities called “interstate and international” in scope. Burrell-Brinkley bought four guns over a nearly two-year period in Pennsylvania, including a 40 caliber handgun that was traced to a North Philadelphia homicide just 24 days later. |

Ever since I could remember, I wanted to own my very own MK18. There’s something about the compact form factor of the 10.3” Close Quarters Battle Receiver that has always spoken to me, and from the first time I saw the Daniel Defense MK18 at SHOT Show, I knew I needed to have one in my life. The problem: It was exceptionally difficult for me to justify the $2,300 price tag (plus the cost of a tax stamp and everything else I would need to complete the rifle), for just another gun in the safe without any real purpose outside of photography and occasional trips to the range. |

At the Brave1 defense technology exhibition, Ukrainian developers introduced “Murena,” a modular ammunition feed system designed to ensure continuous and stable ammunition supply for machine guns and automatic grenade launchers across multiple combat scenarios.
According to Militarnyi on July 23, the system is compatible with a wide range of belt-fed weapons used by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, including the PKM, M240, M2 Browning (.50 BMG/12.7×99 mm), and the Mk19 automatic grenade launcher. |
