"When propagandizing media made this case out to be something other than what the evidence showed it was, a hoax had been played on the whole country. It was a particularly cruel hoax on the African-American community."

"Look at it this way. Suppose the mass media had – whether through gullibility or complicity – had told a false story of a cancer victim being horribly wronged. Any of us would have been outraged and hurt…but genuine cancer survivors would have been put through more unnecessary pain by the story than anyone else. Basically, that’s what happened here." ...

"A school clerk, Antoinette Tuff, talked 19-year-old Michael Brandon Hill, who had already fired at police outside the school, into surrendering." ...
-------

Submitter's Note: And if she hadn't been able to talk him down it would have been nice if she's been able to shoot him.

Oh, and FYI, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports more people are killed with fists and feet than with "assault weapons".

"A member of TTAG’s Armed Intelligentsia writes:"

"I live in South Florida, a state that can claim over a million CCW (Concealed Carry Weapons) permit holders. I work at City Hall in a city which shall remain nameless. Let’s just say it’s between Miami and Ft Lauderdale. Our City Manager is one of those people who thinks guns in the hands of civilians is a bad thing; only the military and police could ever handle the stress of carrying a weapon as deadly as a gun and 'I am not putting our citizens or employees at risk by allowing guns in City Hall.' So . . ." ...

"Gun Control"

"This is a no compromise, no negotiation-issue with me. I absolutely will not vote for any candidate, regardless of political party, that supports any additional gun control. "To The Reader's Forum:"

"On Sunday morning, August 11, 2013, The Post-Journal printed a letter in their Reader's Forum about Senator Cathy Young. The writer, I'll call Sam, condemned Senator Young on her support to repeal the so-called 'Safe Act.' When I read this letter, I said to myself, this guy must be a Democrat. He sounds just like Obama, Biden, Bloomberg, Cuomo, Schumer, Gillibrand, Feinstein and Pelosi. Why do Democrats hate guns?" ...

"At issue in Thompson's lawsuit is the matter of justification." ...

The new statute in question (14-269.2) provides for concealed handgun permit-holders to keep handguns in closed containers, within a locked motor vehicle, o n educational grounds. On August 22, the 'The Macon County News' reported that Macon County Schools attorney, John Henning, Jr., has said of the new statute, 'It is just crazy.' He also contends that the statute may be circumvented via policies enacted by the local school board, policies that would allow for 'disciplinary action.'" ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion. —THOMAS JEFFERSON
