"More than 15 huge advertisements promoting the 25th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference are up at prominent transit locations around the City of San Francisco, amounting to something of a coup for the Second Amendment Foundation."

"You can see the ad that San Francisco MTA waived their anti-gun policy and allowed to run in order to avoid being sued at www.saf.org/SF-MTA_Ad.pdf."

"SAF Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, looking ahead eagerly to the Sept. 24-26 milestone conference, noted that the advertisements show a woman holding a shotgun and staring through a curtain, under the headline, 'A violent criminal is breaking through your front door. Can you afford to be unarmed?' Gottlieb noted that the CalGuns Foundation assisted in the advertisement's preparation." ...

"Reader feedback sections in both the on-line Seattle Times and Seattle Post-Intelligencer editions are loading up with comments (more than 220 in the Times at last count) as the public reacts to Monday afternoon's fatal shooting by a Seattle police officer of a man apparently carrying a knife."

"Was the man merely whittling, as has been reported, or did the officer perceive a genuine threat when he confronted the as-yet unidentified man? ..." ...

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) must be wondering what else he needed to do to make his pandering to the gun lobby pay off politically. In a recent statement, the National Rifle Association has made it official. Despite Reid's recent record of carrying the NRA's water on Capitol Hill, the gun lobby will not endorse the Majority Leader for reelection against his Tea Party Republican challenger, Sharron Angle."

"When it comes to advancing the NRA's agenda from the Democratic side of the aisle, Harry Reid recently has had few peers. ..." ...
-------

Submitter's Note: Well that's one side of the story. Fortunately the GOA has the other side. They have documented Reid's more than 40 anti gun votes over the last 20 years.

"Now police are saying that Abreu may have stopped a rash of robberies in Reading over the past week."

"Joel Salame, 30, and Dionicio Torres, 24, were arrested after allegedly fleeing Abreu’s notary shop Monday. Though Salame and Torres are only charged with one robbery, police expect to charge the two men with at least eight robberies, most of which occurred from Aug. 24 to Aug. 30 in Reading." ...

FULL TEXT BELOW:

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg pointed to the First Amendment freedom of religion as the reason for not stopping construction of the mosque near the site of the former World Trade Center. Someone should remind him that he has always been against gun rights afforded us in the Second Amendment.

When people point to the Constitution to support their position for gun rights or anything else, liberals reply that parts of the Constitution are outdated. They use the Constitution only when it suits their purpose.

August Scotto,

Hamilton
