"'The people were fearful and just wanted to make sure they could protect their families and homes,' said Anthony Corsiglia, owner of The Gun Rack, in Vineland."
"We didn't have crazies coming here saying they want to take over Vineland. They are angry and scared because they don't know what is coming next. Can you blame them? I don't." |

"I am shocked and ashamed of the editorial titled 'Time for some sanity,' (Sept. 7) regarding t he pending removal of the Campbell County ordinance prohibiting the carrying of firearms in parks. I have never read anything so reactionary and so completely based on unfounded fear instead of facts." --Melissa Allison |

"WAR on Muslim fanatics! Bomb them now! Deport supporters! This is a Muslim watch community!" said the messages on Grzesik's garage.
"Detectives with the Sheriff's Office went to Grzesik's house and spoke to him Wednesday morning. They say they became concerned about his mental stability, so they took him into custody under the state's Baker Act." |

"An estimated 30 to 50 suicide-killers are waiting inside America for their orders to strike.
This time, while aiming as before for the President, the White House and Capitol Hill, they will also go for a broad spectrum of what they consider strategic targets, such as airports, oil fields and oil installations, sensitive military and intelligence facilities, warships and carriers.
The last were indeed ordered out to sea shortly after the assaults on Tuesday." |

National Rifle Association committee and Board of Directors' meetings scheduled to begin in Washington, D.C. Friday and extend through the weekend have been postponed.
The postponement was in response to Tuesday's terrorist sneak attacks on airlines, New York's World Trade Center complex and the Pentagon in Washington, causing a nationwide air transport shutdown in midweek.

"If you value freedom, don't let the destruction begun by the bombers continue to multiply. Get up, pull yourself together, and get on with life... If we are to show that there's substance behind our symbols, we need to... be vigilant for the rules and laws that will surely come to try to limit our freedoms even more. We need to show that tyrants cannot and will not bring us to our knees." --Sunni Maravillosa |

A federal appeals court Friday vacated its June decision that said FBI sharpshooter Lon Horiuchi may be tried for manslaughter for fatally shooting Vicky Weaver during the Ruby Ridge standoff in August 1992.
In legal terms, the decision means there is now no precedent in the West on whether federal agents are immune from state prosecution for alleged wrongdoing committed under the color of authority. |

"The House overwhelmingly passed the use-of-force resolution by a 420-1 margin. Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) registered the lone dissenting vote, saying she believed it gave too much of Congress' power to the President, and because she was reluctant to approve force that could worsen the situation."
"The Senate approved the measure by a 98-0 margin earlier in the day."
