In a world where function and form rarely meet in equal measure, Cabot Guns’ new Apocalypse Max chambered in 9 mm Luger aims to dominate both realms, blending tactical prowess with the aesthetics of a forged sculpture. This isn’t just a gun—it’s a love letter to metallurgy and unapologetic American luxury.
A reimagining of Cabot’s 2020 Apocalypse model, the Apocalypse Max evolves the single-stack foundation into a modern double-stack 1911 platform, boasting 17+1 round capacity (or 20+1 with extended mags) and a full 5-inch government-length match barrel. |

WVTM 13 obtained arrest records through a public records request that show Wakefield and another store owner, Rex Piggot, were arrested on Aug. 8 for allegedly violating the ordinance.
One part of the rule requires dealers to hold secondhand items for 10 days before making them available for sale. Wakefield says they were holding the guns for the required 10-day period, but would occasionally place certain items on hold with the intention of selling them to a specific customer once the waiting period was over.
"We already knew who we were going to sell them to after the 10 days," he said. "We put them in the computer as a layaway so we would know who's going to be buying that gun after the 10 days." |

The City of Seattle is suing Glock and several gun stores in Western Washington after the city claims Glock pistols are too easy to convert into illegal machine guns.
The city claimed that Glocks are being turned into machine guns with cheap parts or 3D printing. City Attorney Ann Davison stated that modified Glocks are showing up more often in shootings — even in the hands of juveniles.
“We can’t do it alone; we need Glock to help with this problem to see a reduction in gun violence and the use of their weapons in this format,” Davison said, according to KIRO 7. |

The Department of Justice filed an amicus brief Thursday with the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals urging the full court to strike down New Jersey’s bans on AR-15-style rifles and magazines holding more than 10 rounds, arguing the categorical prohibitions violate the Second Amendment.
A 2-1 panel of the Philadelphia-based appeals court ruled last week that a lower-court judge erred in striking down the state’s restrictions under the Supreme Court’s 2022 Bruen decision. That landmark ruling reshaped gun laws nationwide by requiring any firearm regulation to be consistent with the nation’s historical tradition, reinforcing that the Second Amendment is not a “second-class right.” |

Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells has issued a statement following a Florida appeals court ruling that struck down the state’s ban on open carry of firearms.
The Florida First District Court of Appeals ruled Sept. 15 that prohibiting open carry is unconstitutional. Sheriff Wells said the decision is effective immediately, though restrictions remain on where firearms may be openly carried.
Open carry is still prohibited at county and city commission meetings, courthouses, police stations, sheriff’s offices, bars and bar areas of restaurants, and schools. It is also banned at school-sponsored events, on school property, on school buses, and at bus stops, including colleges and universities. |

“There’s nothing wrong with calling the police for this type of thing… The mistake came when they arrested him for doing nothing more, really, than walking on his property with his own gun and turning his back, in a completely nonthreatening manner, on these employees,” said Reid Nelson, a state appellate defender representing Harris.
When the Girard Police Department arrived on the scene, officers arrested Harris, who was openly carrying on his own property without making any threatening gestures or physically doing anything to interfere. I contacted the Department to inquire about protocol for arresting a man who openly carries on his own property without making any threatening gestures, given that Kansas is a Constitutional Carry... |

No guns for Elmo, Spider-Man or anyone else in New York’s Times Square — and don’t try sneaking them into the subway, either.
That is the decision Friday from a federal appeals court effectively upholding a New York state law that bars firearms in “sensitive” locations, including the tourist mecca known as “the crossroads of the world,” the New York City subway system and commuter trains.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a lower court judge’s 2023 ruling that let the state law remain in effect after several gun owners filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of some restrictions. An appeals court ruling last year has allowed other parts of the law to remain in effect.

Minnesota’s legislative leaders continued to mull over the details of a special session this week, but several factors might be complicating the process behind the scenes.
Exactly three weeks ago, sources within Governor Walz’s Office first indicated that he’d been calling legislative members in the wake of August’s shooting at Annunciation Church and telling them to prepare for a special session.
The session, Walz has said multiple times, will focus on gun control.
“Foundational to that is, I believe, with every fiber of my being that we need to take the weapons of war off the streets,” he said last week. |

One mass shooting after another, one accidental child death after another tears through this country on an almost daily basis. Once again, lawmakers hide behind “thoughts and prayers,” while clinging to an amendment that has been twisted beyond recognition. But to understand why the Second Amendment exists at all, we must strip away the myths and confront a brutal truth: it was not written to safeguard freedom, but to preserve slavery.
Ed.: This nonsense trope refuses to die. |

The Second Circuit federal appellate court on Friday morning issued a ruling upholding New York state’s ban on open carry of firearms and its prohibition on carrying firearms in Times Square and in America’s largest and busiest subway system.
The 50-page opinion upholds a lower court decision that New York’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act aligns with the nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation and thus, “does not violate the Second Amendment.” |

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has a major decision to make and it’s steeped in pure politics. He’s got a bill to consider that would ban striker-fired handguns – just like the one he was gifted by Shawn Ryan when he appeared on the Shawn Ryan Show podcast.
The governor prides himself on being the strongest gun control governor in the country and has never seen a policy to restrict Second Amendment rights that he didn’t love. Who can forget his ill-fated media ploy in 2023 to export California-style gun control to the rest of the country through the introduction of a 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution? |

A Broward Judge has thrown out a manslaughter charge against a Miami-Dade police officer involved in a chaotic 2019 shootout that killed a kidnapped UPS driver, ruling that Florida’s “stand your ground” law shields him from prosecution.
Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra dismissed the case against Officer Jose Mateo, 33, who was indicted with three colleagues after a harrowing gun battle that left 27-year-old Frank Ordoñez, a UPS driver taken hostage during a jewelry store robbery, dead in the crossfire.
Kollra’s order marks a rare application of Florida’s expansive self-defense statute to a law enforcement officer. |

Gun owners again lost a challenge to New York state gun laws restricting open carry and requiring a permit to conceal carry in New York City, with the Second Circuit saying Friday that the regulations pass muster under recent US Supreme Court precedent.
Each of the regulations “falls within our Nation’s historical tradition of gun regulations and, thus, does not violate the Second Amendment,” the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said as it denied a request to block them while an underlying lawsuit is pending.
The regulations bar carrying firearms in Times Square in New York City, ...
