It's a symbol of history for some, a symbol of hate for others. But it will remain a symbol of school spirit for students at Haralson County High School. Students voted Wednesday to re-paint the Confederate flag on the wall of the school's gym. Someone painted over the flag last weekend. Eighty percent of students said the flag should be re-painted, and 17 percent said it shouldn't.

Million Mom Mole
By Tanya Metaksa
FrontPageMagazine.com | 9/28/00

They called it a “non-political,” “grass-roots” event, organized by well-meaning “Moms” around their kitchen tables. But, in fact, the Million-Mom March was a tightly-run exercise in guerrilla theater, brought to you by a vast left-wing conspiracy of professional agitators, Washington insiders and the Democratic National Committee

WASHINGTON – NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre Wednesday called Al Gore "deceitful" on the gun issue. The coming presidential election is "probably the most important election we've ever had for the Second Amendment," LaPierre said.
LaPierre indicated the support of National Rifle Association members could be critical in electing Bush, especially given the NRA's popularity in battleground states such as Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania...

Here is a list of known school shootings since Feb. 97.

In fact, this isn't really that many shootings. Though it is sad, indeed, this is NOT an "epidemic". I'm not minimizing the badness of it all, just being real.

Someone asked me if my freedom is more important than their child's safety.

"Yes. Next question."

"Undeterred by a judge's recent decision to throw out a city lawsuit against the gun industry, Mayor Richard Daley on Tuesday renewed the attack on another front as he pushed for General Assembly approval of measures that would limit handgun purchases in Illinois to one per person per month and require gun dealers to obtain state licenses."
=====
In all honestly, given everything Daley has done to tick off so many people, I'm surprised somebody hasn't slit his throat yet...

"Gray Davis makes a thoughtful exception to his own pledge by releasing a killer threatened by an old boyfriend."

She shot the guy in the back and had no witnesses on the scene as to what really went down, but the anti-gun Examiner pats Davis on the back for letting her loose. Hmmm.

``It (the legislation) would cover anything that looks like a real gun,' Solicitor-General Dave Tsubouchi told reporters at Queen's Park yesterday."

"The legislation - to be introduced this fall - will require a person to be at least 18 years old to buy an air pistol or a toy pistol that could be mistaken for a real gun."

This stuff makes my skin crawl, and I have personally verified a bunch of these listed experiments on U.S. citizens myself, so I know that a great deal of it is true from personal investigation.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion. —THOMAS JEFFERSON
