"THIS month the National Academy of Sciences issued a 328-page report on gun-control laws. The big news is that the academy's panel couldn't identify any benefits of decades-long effort to reduce crime and injury by restricting gun ownership. The only conclusion it could draw was: Let's study the question some more (presumably, until we find the results we want)." "The academy, however, should believe its own findings. Based on 253 journal articles, 99 books, 43 government publications, a survey that covered 80 different gun-control measures and some of its own empirical work, the panel couldn't identify a single gun-control regulation that reduced violent crime, suicide or accidents."
"From the assault-weapons ban to the Brady Act to one-gun-a-month restrictions to gun locks, nothing worked." |

| Folks, I've known this ever since the original article came out in November 2003. Not only is it useless in the US, several foreign criminologists have been doing research and proving the same thing (I.E. Gun control doesn't work) in Canada, England and Wales. When will the world wake up? |

| The patriot act and now the National (communist) ID act, ect, ect. I bet in 10 years or so we will have a cashless country, as cash is the one big "loophole" to figuring out what all the people are doing with their money at all times. I think they will also require finger print scanners for any major items bought. Government just has to know every little detail of your life. |

I expect the spin from the anti-Constitutional gun-ban idiots will be that the study showed that since gun control laws didn't cause any harm (lies), more laws are needed. Meanwhile, well stated John. Thank you! I appreciate the efforts of all the John Lotts in our country who bring honest evidence and rational thought to combat the lies and emotional rhetoric of those traitors. |

Well now, it's just me, but maybe the reason they found no reduction in all these horrible statistics is that GUN CONTROL LAW DOESN'T WORK?
Nah, keep looking we'll find something good here somewhere... |

Avoiding, (but only temporarily), the responsive urge to launch into a lengthy dissertation here….and intentionally pointing the accusatory finger at the burgeoning number of taxpayer-funded societal data-collectors, analysts, ‘wanna-be’ and ‘actual’ POLICY and PROGRAM ADVISERS for intentional obfuscation of facts… I for one, heretofore DEMAND that we ‘the law-abiding, firearm-owning Citizens' be provided with full disclosure of an accurate number of Criminal Acts committed by NON-CITIZENS and ILLEGAL ALIENS. [The necessity for this disclosure is obvious;- except of course to those who actually do have something to hide…like Legislators and Gun Control Organizations for instance?]…

I know a lot of guys who shoot blanks,They got fixed after they had a kid. By the looks of the kids its a good thing they did. At my birth they slapped my mom and gave my dad a vasectomy on the spot. In those days it was an unproven operation but he got a good job guarding some Arabs harem where mom worked part time. Hey! gettinworse<. already in works on cash sde and economic future. Plans are underway that by year 2012 the US will of completed new domestic finace system that is totaly seperated from it's international monetary units. The lowering dollar value is just stage II. |

"...the panel couldn't identify a single gun-control regulation that reduced violent crime, suicide or accidents."
Yes, but while there may have been no notable reductionin gun crime, those several regulations helped to keep gun crime at a manageable level.
Thus, there is supportable evidence that MORE gun control regulations would be even MORE helpful.
Don't you understand ANYTHING????
