Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School will spend a day of Christmas break hosting an active shooter drill.
But area residents needn’t be concerned: It’s all an exercise for area police departments aimed at readying them for — God forbid — the real thing. On Dec. 29, the Vanceboro Police Department will host a training exercise from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. |

Training, done properly, is always a good thing.
Training in a school when it's a student free zone is more proper than using students for living 'no shoot' targets. |
