This is not about taking away Second Amendment Rights; it is about sensible gun legislation that puts laws in place that serve the well-being of all of us, not just the profits of gun makers. We need fewer congressional moments of silence on the anniversary of Sandy Hook and more laws removing assault rifles from the public market as before 2008, when the ban ended.
We could protect children in gun owners’ homes with smart gun legislation that gun lobbyists opposed. Congress needs to act. |

The AWB ended in 2004, not 2008. And despite the claim of not wanting to take away 2A rights, it does. Do these people really not know what "shall not be infringed" means? |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands? — Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836 |
