But Penny Okamoto, executive director of Ceasefire Oregon, called the measure clearly unconstitutional and predicted it would lead to litigation that would wind up costing Coos County taxpayers.
Sponsor Rob Taylor, a retired optician, said passage signaled a move toward "turning Coos County into a sanctuary for gun owners."
