At this writing, there have been over 1,500 gun-related homicides in America since the Las Vegas massacre on October 1, 2017 when 58 people were killed and 546 wounded, right on track with the national average of 1,000 gun deaths per month for the last two years. Now that we have your attention, let’s consider the case made by the NRA, its Congressional hired hands, the majority of the Supreme Court, and various right wing pundits who claim the Second Amendment is not simply about state militias but guarantees the unfettered right of everyone to own, carry, trade and eventually shoot someone with a gun.

Good grief, Ed Asner wrote this. The well known actor is a self avowed socialist. This nis another libtard screed promoting the debunked idea that the 2A applies only to a select militia. It differs only in it uses Madison's original version of the amendment to try to prove the claim Sorrily while Madison's original is longer and somewhat clumsier than the final draft, it conveys exactly the same meaning, even using the phrase "the right of the people." A specious lie, just in another form. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
