"Teaching children to learn how to hunt and fish—you would think such an endeavor would be met with a pat on the back. Instead, a bow hunter in California endures death threats for her program Bring a Kid Hunting."
"In an interview with Mama Grizzly Radio, Jen Cordaro spoke out about the treatment she’s endured from animal rights terrorists. It’s quite shocking."
"'The initial reaction to the 'Bring a Kid' campaign actually was all positive,' said Cordaro ... 'I have more letters from kids than I can keep up with.' But once her ambitious program hit social media the anti-hunters crawled out of the woodwork. Cordaro received messages filled with, as she puts it, 'not so nice words.' Sad, when we consider the best way to make our youth - indeed anyone with an open mind - aware and caring about our wildlife and environment is to get them out into it. As all game hunters and fishers know hunting/fishing isn't about killing. Its about the experience. The time spent observing nature refreshes your soul and spirit. Harvesting nature's bounty - and consuming it - is the way the hunter/fisher honors the game and nature. |

TO REMEMBER |
"Some people think that the Second Amendment is an outdated relic of an earlier time. Doubtless some also think that constitutional protections of other rights are outdated relics of earlier times. We The People own those rights regardless, unless and until We The People repeal them. For those who believe it to be outdated, the Second Amendment provides a good test of whether their allegiance is really to the Constitution of the United States, or only to their preferences in public policies and audiences. The Constitution is law, not vague aspirations, and we are obligated to protect, defend, and apply it. If the Second Amendment were truly an outdated relic, the Constitution provides a method for repeal. The Constitution does not furnish the federal courts with an eraser." --9th Circuit Court Judge Andrew Kleinfeld, dissenting opinion in which the court refused to rehear the case while citing deeply flawed anti-Second Amendment nonsense (Nordyke v. King; opinion filed April 5, 2004) |
