Flint remains one of the most dangerous cities in the United States, according to data reported to the FBI, but groups are working together to create change.
Guns Down America, a gun control advocacy group, hosted a town hall at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Flint.
The organization made the stop during a 20-city tour that began in April. Its start coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting.
Igor Volsky, executive director of Guns Down, said his organization would like to see a reduction in guns and make them harder to acquire.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
No kingdom can be secured otherwise than by arming the people. The possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave. He, who has nothing, and who himself belongs to another, must be defended by him, whose property he is, and needs no arms. But he, who thinks he is his own master, and has what he can call his own, ought to have arms to defend himself, and what he possesses; else he lives precariously, and at discretion. — James Burgh, Political Disquisitions: Or, an Enquiry into Public Errors, Defects, and Abuses [London, 1774-1775]. |
