Democratic attorneys general from 17 states are calling on Congress to abandon legislation backed by the National Rifle Association that would allow concealed-carry gun permits issued in one state to be valid in all states. The top prosecutors from states including New York, Pennsylvania, Iowa and California sent a letter to congressional leaders in both parties on Sunday warning that federal reciprocity proposals being debated on Capitol Hill “will lead to the death of police officers and civilians, the proliferation of gun traffickers, and acts of terrorism and other mass violence.”

"... proliferation of gun traffickers..." Sorry, gents, your attitude about the Second Amendment is showing. Your unconstitutional infringement of the Second Amendment in your States still leaves the citizens of other States with at least some of their 2A Rights intact, and that rankles. It's become obvious that your goal is total repeal of the Second Amendment. Reciprocity would toss a great big wrench into the gears you've been cranking for decades.

What about the "full faith and credit" clause in the U. S. Constitution?
Does that mean nothing to today's politicians?

Comment by: PHORTO (10/24/2017)
MarkHamTownsend - It does to reciprocity proponents, but not to opponents. The fact is that Article IV Section 1 does not REQUIRE Congress to act, it is volitional. It uses the term "may" and not "shall".

That aside, if Congress does act and it gets by the troublesome Senate and the Prez signs it, it will be unassailable at the SCOTUS. The Constitution delegates the authority to do it, black-letter.

Waidaminnit. Are all you 'professional' AGs saying that drug dealers and terrorists are otherwise carrying legally with state-issued permits? Because that's your clear implication, and it is ridiculous.

How will removing criminal penalties for peaceably carrying for self-defense on a state-issued permit "lead to the death of police officers and civilians"?

Your argument exposes you as dishonest brokers who are operating on an ideological agenda, not advocating true "public safety".

If you have 10,000 regulations, you destroy all respect for the law. —Winston Churchill
