"One of the guns stolen from Sheriff Smith is a German sub-machine gun developed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch. The gun is so deadly, it is banned in several states, except for use by law enforcement."
That is a fully automatic pistol. Not the semi-automatic type that you and I can buy.
Talk about irresponsible. That gun should have been on the person or locked up at a home or armory.
And for those people that believe only the police and military should have guns, this is another of a long list of examples of how that doesn't work.

TO REMEMBER |
| Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands? — Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836 |
