AHA! The unintentional Freudian slip!
Because they FEEL that person is a threat, never mind actually assembling "clear and convincing" evidence with an adversarial hearing at which the respondent can present a rebuttal, BEFORE THE FACT.
The current construction of the majority of these statutes fails that due process mandate - but that's just what these snowflakes WANT, and politically risk-averse lawmakers have been caving in. |
