This article is short on details. It sounds like the son was not so innocent. Several guys beating up a single person who got a gun and fought back.
In any event, don't blame law gun laws. It is very likely the shooter did not have a carry license and was in violation of one or more gun laws already on the books.

| The laws are not too easy, they are too restrictive! If all guns were banned there would still be guns on campus, just in the hands of criminals ! |
