A ban on "assault weapons" is one of the goals of some Democrats in the U.S. House, said Rep. Andre Carson (D). He said in a message on Twitter, he believes Congress is taking steps to help stop gun violence.
"This week Congress took action to tackle gun violence," said Carson, after talking about the one-year anniversary of the Parkland (Florida) shooting. "The House Judiciary passed a bi-partisan background checks act, and the House Democrats will reintroduce the assault weapons ban." |

As usual a typical democrat stance. They fail to realize that criminals will steal weapons if they need them so any type of background check wont stop them from getting weapons!

TO REMEMBER |
| Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands? — Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836 |
