    | Today marks a somber occasion. September 15th, 1966, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson attempted and in all honesty, failed to pass legislation to reduce or even limit the rate of gun violence in the United States. No American president had made such a hard push for this kind of legislation before him; further, his motivation came in the form of a devastating shooting at the University of Texas only a few weeks before. So, why in fifty years can we move from black and white television to Snapchat, yet be completely stagnant on such a polarizing and pressing issue?

    | The issue isn't stagnant. Just this month, students at the fore mentioned University of Texas, were legally enabled to carry on the campus. Aside from individuals taking responsibility for their self defense, there will be preventive overtones and less violent crime there. Why some young students may even see that licensed conceal carriers are quality caring citizens. |

    | Because Criminals don't obey laws, and all the gun control laws already on the books have not prevented criminal use of guns.
Gun control laws only affect law abiding citizens. Enough citizens and politicians understand this that we have not devolved into a totalitarian state despite the best efforts of liberal politicians.

    | 1. not one place in the world can anyone point to that gun control has reduced violent crime. That includes their own governments violence against its own citizens. 2. It sure does not work in Chicago, Mexico, or even England.
