"A former Egg Harbor City police officer pleaded guilty yesterday to vehicular homicide in a crash that killed a Philadelphia man, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey S. Blitz said."
"Charles Klein 3d, 37, of Egg Harbor City, also pleaded guilty in Superior Court to charges of assault by auto and driving while intoxicated, Blitz said."
"Klein was off duty and traveling east on Route 30 in Galloway Township at 2 a.m. on May 21, 2000, when he struck a car driven by Gazmend Cena. Cena's car slammed into a telephone pole, killing him and seriously injuring his front-seat passenger."
"Klein is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Albert J. Garofolo on June 14." |
