    | The gun lobby and resultant extraordinary proliferation of guns, especially those designed and manufactured for mass killings of citizenry, could not have been anticipated by the framers of the Constitution. It makes no sense to deny that armament corporations and the gun lobby take ownership rights so far beyond the “original intent” it makes the Second Amendment to all intents and purposes unrecognizable.

    | It amazes me that some people are so smart that they know what the founding fathers intended.
Don't tell me that Thomas Jefferson could not have foreseen that armament technology would develop beyond the single shot flintlock.

Actually, the people that write and believe this garbage are a special kind of stupid.

    | I'm sure that the author of this tripe would agree with restrictions on Internet communications, tv and radio communications, and twittering, be a use when the founders passed the First Amendment, there were no vacuum tubes, let alone silicon chips! |

    | There is no such thing as a "living Constitution"; the COUSA is inert, intended to carry immutable founding principles forward unaltered from its conception. It contains the means within to modify methods, but not principles.
A free people's liberty is validated by the fundamental right to defend themselves, individually and collectively (in that order), and to the means of exercising that right.

 Period.

                      | The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so. Indeed I would go so far as to say that the underdog is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order. — Adolf Hitler, April 11, 1942.
