Your Internet and e-mail tax bill

July 27, 2001

Dear Internet User,

If government officials have their way, you will soon receive your Internet and email tax bill.

From e-mail tax to an Internet access tax, the tax lobbyists are crafting ways to make these frightening new taxes a reality.

Currently, government officials at the national, state and local levels are pressing to tax your Internet access, monitor your Internet transactions and even tax your e-mail.

I have fought against Internet taxation and, with the help of concerned citizens, like you, NoInternetTax.org has convinced Congress to pass a temporary ban on new Internet taxes until October 21, 2001.

With October 21st quickly approaching, the tax lobbyists have regrouped to make sure you and I don't win the next round.

For example, this month the World Trade Organization (WTO) is meeting in Geneva to specifically to devise new ways to tax American Internet users.

That's why I'm writing you today. Help me stop the government from taxing the Internet and meddling in our privacy.

With your help, NoInternetTax.org will make the temporary tax ban permanent. I can start this crucial fight if you click here now and make a generous contribution to fund the battle ahead.

I need to gear up -- now, before it's too late -- and tell the bureaucrats and elected officials that you and I don't need another new tax and won't tolerate them spying on our daily lives.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Holder
NoInternetTax.org

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
"Some people think that the Second Amendment is an outdated relic of an earlier time. Doubtless some also think that constitutional protections of other rights are outdated relics of earlier times. We The People own those rights regardless, unless and until We The People repeal them. For those who believe it to be outdated, the Second Amendment provides a good test of whether their allegiance is really to the Constitution of the United States, or only to their preferences in public policies and audiences. The Constitution is law, not vague aspirations, and we are obligated to protect, defend, and apply it. If the Second Amendment were truly an outdated relic, the Constitution provides a method for repeal. The Constitution does not furnish the federal courts with an eraser." --9th Circuit Court Judge Andrew Kleinfeld, dissenting opinion in which the court refused to rehear the case while citing deeply flawed anti-Second Amendment nonsense (Nordyke v. King; opinion filed April 5, 2004)
